“Uncomfortable & run down. Wouldn't recommend it.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2011

From the website the hotel looks beautiful and comfortable. It is a short walk to the train station and it does have parking, which is a plus, but those are the only positives I saw to the hotel. The staff was very short and unaccommodating. In order to get into the hotel from the parking area you need to be escorted from the elevator, which was a nuisance, and the escort was the only friendly employee I dealt with. The elevators were tiny! Also, we had a roommate but the hotel only had one key for our room so we had to leave it with the front desk so he could also access the room when he needed it- and the staff weren't always there or wouldn't understand what we were talking about when we'd try to retrieve it!

Our room was a 2-bedroom 1-bath “family” room. Our roommate had a room with a twin bed, a couch, a table, and a very small television that only got a few channels. The carpet, the bed, couch, table, and tv, were all outdated and extremely worn. The table was broken and it collapsed a few times! The bathroom was clean yes, but the bathtub was so old and rusty and horrific in appearance, with the longest medieval-looking chain for the tub-stop, that I couldn’t allow my 2-year-old son to bathe in it alone and instead had to stand and shower him then pass him off to his father outside! The shower also splashed all over the place because the curtain was minimal, leaving the bathroom flooded after we’d shower, which made it annoying to use the toilet!

Our room itself was so bare it was like a joke! It had two rickety beds and an old run-down wardrobe-thing that looked so dusty and dirty we didn’t even want to touch it. The room smelled like mildew. The hotel has central heating and cooling, and because of this we were stuck in a scorching-hot room all night because they don’t turn the cooler on until peak season! I was so uncomfortable and sweaty I couldn’t even sleep! The bed and pillows were rock-hard and I was 30 weeks pregnant, so it was like torture! We had two nights booked in the hotel but we cut our Milan trip short just so we didn’t have to stay another night in the place!

The breakfast was good, the eating area was nice and stocked and clean and there were no problems there. A lot of people say “staying in European hotels is different than we’re used to in America, so don’t get your hopes up” but I have stayed in many beautiful and comfortable hotels in Europe that were roughly the same price so this hotel was a sheer disappointment.

If you’re a single traveler or you don’t have young kids (and especially if you’re not pregnant) this hotel might be worth it to you for the location, if you’re just needing somewhere to crash. However, if you’re pregnant or have a disability or young children, I’d say you’re better off staying somewhere more comfortable

“Good enough”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 August 2011

Easy to get to the metro and it had parking which is a plus. We stayed in a two-room unit. Air conditioning was best in all of Italy, but only cooled one room. Pillows were as hard as a rock and the hotel is a bit worn. It was fine for us because we only stayed one night. It's good enough, but isn't where I'd stay if I were staying longer.

“This hotel saved our trip...”

After a nightmare in another hotel in Milan,we spent our last night in Milan here. They were able to accomodate us within one hour, in the morning, and had everything ready for us. It is extremely diffcult to find quad rooms in Europe, so this place saved our trip. The lady at the front desk was very understandable of our situation and helped us. The room was spacious (one room for our teenagers and one room for us, like an apartment) clean, comfortable, and the air conditioning working (it was over 90 degrees in Milan). The breakfast room, spacious, and good coffee- excellent expresso macchiatto....The hotel is located steps from the Metro station Pasteur, so it made our last day in Milan easy to get around and to get to the airport.

“Tired-looking, reasonably-priced, average location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 December 2010

I stayed 2 days from 6 to 8 Nov 2010. The room was large but it had a strange bright pink color scheme and very dated fittings, a real blast from the past!

Location wise, it was a 10 minute walk from the subway and seems to be in a reasonably safe residential area. Reception/Conceirge and service was helpful and mostly friendly, but rather pushy on guided tours and hiring their drivers. Breakfast was simple with a choice of bread, buns, croissants, fruits and cereals. The plus point is that they have a computer terminal right next to the reception with free internet usage. Not a terrible hotel, but it isn't a cheerful choice at all! Rather drab overall.

“Friendly staff, and giant bedroom with a full lounge too”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2010

I stayed 2 nights here, and was very pleased with this hotel. The check-in was very efficient and easy, and the room I had was very large, in fact it actually was a bed-room, plus a large lounge with a sofa, plus a bathroom, plus an entry hall. So almost a full apartment.
The hotel is very close to the Pasteur metro station, (this is on the Red Line), so if you are coming from Linate Airport, there is a cheap city bus from Linate to S.Babila where you can connect from the bus to the Red Line Metro very easily.
If you are on a budget (like me LOL) there is a good cheap supermarket just a couple of blocks from the hotel (walk back towards the metro station).
You can also walk from this hotel to the main train station in Milan (probably a 30 minute walk).
Breakfast was fairly basic, and they bring you the coffee (so you can't really help yourself). The food selection was fresh cold meats and cheeses, and some pastries and cakes.
To get to the main down-town area, you can either take a metro or walk down Buenos Airies, and it takes about 30 minutes or so.
I would definetly use this hotel again, and would happily reccomend it to anyone.
