We stayed here for one night recently as we were passing through town on the train. The location was wonderful as we wanted to be near the station and/or the subway. It was less than one block from Central Station. We did find it hard to find the hotel though. We walked right by it several times, not knowing it was there as the sign on the door gave the name of another hotel!! We had to stop and ask for directions from another hotel. If you are on the other side of the street, you can easily see the Hotel Amadeus sign hanging high above the sidewalk. Once we found the hotel, we were impressed with the lobby. It looks fancier than the price indicated it would be. The room was tiny though! Probably the smallest room we have stayed at. But since it was just for one night, that did not bother us. As other reviews mentioned, the walls in the bathroom seem to be very thin and we were able to hear our neighbours talking through the bathroom walls. The walls in the room did not seem to transmit noise though. When we had the balcony door open, the noise from outside was extremely loud (we were facing the main street). However, once we closed the doors, the room seemed to we much quieter and we had no trouble sleeping. The bed had a foam mattress and we had a good sleep. The room did not have a clock or alarm, so be sure you bring your own along. We liked the breakfast in the morning. It seemed to be better than we sometimes find in European hotels. Corn flakes, hard boiled eggs, muffins, fruit, pastries, toast, juice, coffee, hot chocolate, tea, etc. Basically, we liked the place and would not hesitate to stay here again if we were in town. The location by the station/subway is a great one for travelers!! So what if the room was small. We are not traveling to spend time in our room. It was clean, affordable and comfortable and that is all that matters to us.
