“So far from the Center and I'm pretty sure it's haunted”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

I stayed here with a school trip traveling from France and it's actually the worst one I've ever stayed in. The bathroom was for ten year olds because the toilets were so low to the ground and so were the sinks and the mirrors. Also, it was haunted for sure because there were weird noises all the time and the lights in our room kept going on and off all night when we were all in our beds, it was creepy. It's also very far from the center and not all the lockers lock properly, even when a padlock is on.

“Worst hostel ever”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 August 2011

Nice common room, good breakfast, big lockers.

However. Horrible old and unclean toilets and showers. Lots of noice all night on the floor, people talking, laughing, screaming in the rooms and walking between rooms, lots of noise also coming from the reception, no curfew, nobody to tell them to shut up. Half of staff is really unfriendly, the other half is really nice.

“Noisy beds, not cozy, but the staff were friendly and spoke good English.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 April 2011

The good:
1. I dealt with three staffmembers, who were all friendly.
2. The three staffmembers all seemed to speak English to some degree, which was different from the last time I was here four years ago. Thanks, staff!
3. The WI-FI was free at night. (I don't know if it's always free, or only at night.)
4. Linen and blankets are provided. Bring your own towel, or rent one for like 2.50 Euro.
5. On the entryway floor, there's a handy toiletries vending machine (razors, shaving cream, toothpaste/brush, shampoo.) On the basement floor, there are drink and snack vending machines.
6. Microwaves and power outlets in the "living room" area.
7. Free breakfast.
8. The bedrooms and toilets are kept clean.
9. Reception actually seems to be 24 hours, instead of just in theory. Your Cryin'Air plane arrived late? Not a problem.
10. Locks are provided.
11. The neighborhood is tame and local residents are friendly (bring a phrasebook, though.)
12. The Metro station and pharmacy are a 10 minute walk or less.

The bad:
1. This hostel is Party Central, and, if the person in the bunk below or on top moves at all, you will feel it. So, I don't advise this place if you're a light sleeper.
2. Finding this place at night could be a headache, unless you speak a little Italian and happen to find someone who knows that the hostel exists (I was this lucky.) Or maybe you have an IPhone/GPS/sixth sense.
3. The lockers seemed easy to break into, but maybe they're stronger than they appeared to me.
4. No couches in the TV room/common space. Just tables and chairs... and the aforementioned microwaves. This hostel makes itself seem utilitarian, but not especially comfortable.
5. Travelling to Milano Centrale involves changing trains, and takes about 30 mins. Allow extra time for Saturdays and Sundays (and in the ever-present likelihood of a workers' strike, which happened to me once.)
6. They did have sandwiches in a vending machine downstairs, but none of the sandwiches were vegetarian or vegan.

I would still recommend this hostel, but there's definitely room for improvement.

“The WORST HOSTEL I HAVE EVER BEEN IN THE WORLD”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2011

Ok I got in Milano for business but since I was on a low budget I decided to sleep in this hostel. I travel a lot and I slept in a lot of hostels around europe, africa, mexico and united states. I have never, never seen an hostel like this.
1)It looks and is very dirty, the pillow were yellow, the mattress looked like it wasn't cleaned for years!
2)at the reception they gave me the key of the room (an asked for the deposit) but I was unable to lock it cause the door was completely broken
3)Very noisy and far from every place where you can get something warm to eat.
4)the whole place looks like a prison, they have lockers in the corridor instead than inside the rooms.
Trust me if you want to enjoy your journey and have a nice stay in Italy do not go in this hostel

“You just can't sleep!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 August 2010

I really can't recommend this hostel.
1.) I felt like in prison
2.) you have spints with a big lock at the corridor, but when somebody opens ore closes the spint it is really noisy! --> so i can't sleep
3.) There is only one restaurant near the hostel, so you need to take the métro to get something warm to eat. You can get something at the hostel too, but i didn't try it ;)

To say something good to ^^
I think it's easy to make friends at the hostel because it's big and in the evening there a a lot of people sitting in the outside and talk ;)
