You know how you search for hours for somewhere nice to stay and are then feel conned when you arrive? Well not here........ the house ( recently done up and refurbished by Massimo) is absolutely gorgeous, so much space and so welcoming. There are three guest rooms, two on the ground floor and one up on the next level in the eaves. We had the one upstairs and it was lovely, up and down on different levels, and complete with a very comfy bed, large bathroom, huge terrace with view of the lake, and interesting quirky decor. I would say that perhaps elderly or infirm people would be better off in one of the downstairs rooms, as would tall people, the beams were rather low in places upstairs! Guests have the use of the open plan sitting room, terrace, dining area ,with books, games and interesting, stylish and( sorry to use the word again) quirky decor and things to look at, as well as info on the local area. You can also use the fully equipped kitchen, and its from here that Max prepares and serves the lovely breakfast, fruit juice, cereals, croissants and other typical Italian breads and cakes, and wonderful fresh coffee or different teas or hot chocolate if you prefer. Max is a great host and is full of useful information which he obviously loves to share with everyone. The house is about 3 km from the lakeside, up the steep hill, and although we enjoyed the exercise especially after having dinner in the town at night, it is not an easy stroll back! However, Max will show you on the map where the free carparks in the town are, and we had no difficulty finding a space for all day, ( probably more difficult in high season) At the house itself there is lots of secure parking.
I am sure we will go back!
