“A delighful hotel in a great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2010

Just spent 10 days at the Meridiana in Sirmione and couldn't have found a better hotel for us. Small, charming yet unpretentious, in a quiet tree lined road, about 10 mins ,walk up to the Roman Villa and a few minutes to the centre with its many cafes and restaurants. Buffet breakfast generous and varied (unusual for a small Italian B&B). We asked for room with a bath which we got, and the room was bigger than most so worth asking for if staying longer than few days. Staff v.helpful. Also, unusually while on holiday, we slept very well every night (maybe helped by Itallian wine admittedly). The hotel doesn't have a flash swimmingpool or is by the lake, but we loved it as it was almost our special little secret. If we were to return to Sirmione we would definitely go back to the Meridiana.

“great hotel”

What a great little hotel this is. Just a two minute walk into town, but in a very quiet location. No fancy pools, resturants, bars etc but big clean rooms, with superb staff, but is half the price of the lakeside hotels. If all you want is a room to sleep, and adequate breakfast then this is the place to stop, and use the hundreds of pounds you save on the rest of your holiday.

“Pleasant Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 December 2009

My wife and I went to Sirmione during winter in Italy.

For a start, we waited at the De Sanzano train station for a good 2hours before we finally gave up and called the hotel to arrange for a taxi to come pick us up. The (only) hotel staff was very nice by offering to pick us up in his vehicle but he mentioned that the other staff hasn't arrived and hence he needs to be at the hotel.

We were the only customer for the hotel and the same staff mentioned that it hasn't snowed like that in 25years in Sirmione.

The rooms were neat and tidy. Rather big bathroom. The sheets were clean but the TV was located badly above the head for it was pretty small and couldn't really be seen from the bed. Other than that, (maybe because we were the only customer), we felt that the service was pretty warm and frindly. Breakfast was aplenty, despite only us eating. The coffee in Italy is fabuulous so you must request it from the hotel staff.

On the whole, a relatively pleasant experience. Will definitely visit again in Summer for the balcony and to watch the sunset. Fabulous location too!

“Lovely Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2007

For the price, the Meridiana cannot be beat. It's in the center of town, through the city walls. Great location, clean room, ask for a room with a balcony-essential. The rooftop terrace is fun with a bottle of wine to watch the sunset. Was in Sirmione for a wedding and the entire party stayed at this hotel. Would recommend highly.

“Bella Garda”

My wife and I spent a week in this nice, homely, friendly hotel in the end of August and beginning of September 2005. The room was small but tastefully decorated, the bathroom was perfect and the beautiful balcony with flowers and a partial view to Garda Sea was our living room at nights, when we enjoyed good and cheap Italian wines from the region. Breakfast was good and the staff most friendly and helpful in all matters, for instance when booking tickets and transports to Arena di Verona and Aida. The hotel is perfectly situated just outside the tourist streets in old town, which secures tranquillity and peace. Mille grazie Signora Catarina et Cie.

PS There is no supermarket in the old town, but you can take a bus for 1 euro to the new Sirmione (Colombare), where you can buy good cheap wines and delicious cheeses. Boat trips with the Battello-boat are great entertainment and a must.
