“Fine Hotel in great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2010

When we arrived on 22nd October ,the receptionist promptly showed us to our room-an Executive Room of reasonable size, nicely decorated with balcony overlooking the Lake and harbour. The balcony had not been swept nor was it during our stay.Quckly found an English style pillar.Ample blankets available.Breakfast we would describe as average for a hotel of this standard-no variation in hot food but the overall selection of breakfast food was good and of reasonable quality No sign of eggshells in the scrambled egg..Staff were attentive and cheerful. The mini bar was replenished every day and the room was cleaned immaculately. When we left the reception sraff were very helpful-directing us ttowards the cheaper taxis which were exorbitantly priced at 70 euros for the half an hour journey to Verona airport. This is not the hotels fault.

“Wonderful location and excellent service”

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Sirmione for 10 days while visiting Lake Garda and Verona. Stayed in a harbour view room on half board basis. Fantastic location with beutiful views of harbour and lake. Nice balcony to appreciate the ambience. Clean room with good facilities although A/C was not very efficient. Pleasant bar area with outside seating to admire the lake views. Large restaurant that lacked character but provided good service and food quality. Evening meals a little monotonous and if given a choice I would opt for bed and breakfast - there are several excellent and charming restaurants in Sirmione. Would I return - yes but on a B&B basis.

“Never ever again”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2010

Never again, seriously, what was I thinking, I could kick myself at 5:45 am, Italian style. I own a home just north of Pisa, a couple weeks in the area is of course awesome. But I made the mistake of doing a night in Sirmione, and the Hotel Sirmione. The location of e hotel for the town is fine the room with a lake view is ( mine, room 208 ) was 75% parking lot, 25% lake shore and the room is positioned in such a way that at least five other rooms ( and the two overly curious tourist per room ) get to enjoy every move you make in room 208 if you decide to leave the drapes open enough to see the sliver of lake shore you have. The room was ice cold, and there was no blanket, none, nothing, only a sheet,  the mosquitos are not too affected by this cold since they are large enough to kill small children while they sleep. I had requested throughbooking.com..a " tranquil" room. When I checked in, i was. Told by the hip young Italian girl hiding her tattoos under a slick poly blend hotel uniform that there was a " festival" tonight. I didn't think much of it, Sirmione, tourist spot, probably has festivals all the time, everywhere, I had no idea these festivities were to be enjoyed by @ 300 people, under my already very public, ice cold mosquito nest of a room. The " festival" entertainment that kicked off at 11pm made me have a new appreciation for the sound of Siamese cats in heat. I actually turned the tv on to drown out the noise from outside my room. My ever trustworthy lunesta didn't have a chance against the " festival", and the cold. Cut to 5 am, I drag myself into e bathroom to shower, this has to make me feel better, just a little at least, I turn the light on think I hear the sound of a room warmer, maybe the water tank heating...no...it's  the mosquitoes, that is it, I grabbed something to wear and got out fast. After this cappuccino I am going to make some young employee wish they were getting another tattoo, rather than listening to one really pissed off client that wishes she would have stayed down south.
Some more up to date info as i have my iPad in tote, the breakfast buffet chef has decided that egg shells are perfectly good material for consumption in the scrambled eggs.  as I wait at the front desk, no one else, just me, the current employee finds it more important to do computer work.....seriously I could kick myself for coming here....
So, no to this hotel, there are nicer ones down the road farther past the castle, but to drive into this area is a nightmare, you will feel as though it's a pedestrian zone and that your going to wipe out one of the hundreds of tourists your trying to maneuver your car around, and who cares, the place is a tourist trap disaster.

“A wonderful hotel in a fantastic location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 August 2010

My family have just returned from a weeks stay at the hotel and we had a lovely time. The location was fantastic.
The staff went out of their way to be helpful and meet our needs, for example, our teenage son and daughter had been allocated a double bed by mistake (!) and within 5 minutes the staff made sure there were twin beds in our adjoining room for them. Our rooms were large and spotlessly clean. Although we had comfort rooms in the building across the path from the main building these were lovely and overlooked the castle and old square. Good double glazing meant it was very quiet. Breakfast was good.
The only things which were not perfect was the lack of WIFI in the room and I found the bed really hard and uncomfortable. Staff tried o find a solution but there were no mattress toppers or softer mattresses which meant i did not sleep very well.
The sister hotel (Hotel Therme) is a two minute walk away and they have a better pool which they let us use. Also the free cycle hire was a bonus as you cannot drive in the old town.
Sirmione is very expensive, a cola is 5 euros and this really is a tourist trap but a very beautiful town. The old town is pretty and the ruins worth a visit. We hired a speed boat to tour the lake which was great fun .

“Phenomenal Scenery Sirmione”

A wonderfully atmospheric hotel, within the castle walls and in the hub of all the activities in this quaint oasis of peace. This magnificent hotel gave us glorious views of the lake and the hub of life coming in and out of the very busy little town. It was conveninently located a spit throw from the ferry port that could transport you up and down Lake Garda. I would definitely stay here again, the rooms were spacious and clean, the staff friendly, the food excellent and the location unparralleled......
