“WOW”

The best stay of my vacation. From the minute you walk in they make you feel relaxed. Very pretty room, valet service, free parking, central location, view of the lake and castello, whirlpool and pool, large buffet breakfast, need I say more. I even made an out of the way request and the manager could not have been more accomodating. I really felt like they wanted me to enjoy my visit. Excellent Hotel that is worth every penny spent.

“The Italian equivalent of Fawtly Towers”

The hotel is in an excellent position in the old part of Sirmione next door to the pier. The room was comfortable although the bed was rather hard. The air-conditiong was excellent and the shutters very effective.
However the service in the dining room was dreadful. The waiters ran round like headless chickens trying to match the food to whoever had ordered it. It was very chaotic. Children ran round the dining room during dinner getting in the way of the waiters. They had to dodge about to avoid hitting the children or tripping over them. The waiters were carrying plates of hot food so a nasty accident could have happened. One evening a boy around 7 years of age had a toy pistol which he ran round the restaurant with, shooting at the diners and the waiters, then shooting through the kitchen door at the chefs. He hid behind pillars as well to fire at people. No-one from the hotel or his parents tried to stop him.
In the restaurant there could be up to 10 people in dressing gowns some with curlers in their hair eating breakfast. We found this most odd in a 4* hotel

Room Tip: Lakeside rooms are quiet.

“The hotel was a great base for a wonderful week”

We booked through Thompson. Fantastic location; we had a double room with a balcony overlooking the lake (granted it was a small balcony but we could sit there comfortably). The room was comfortable though fairly small - but most importantly it was clean - and the bed gave us both a very good night's sleep. Staff were friendly and ghelpful - the restaurant staff were very friendly (and all spoke good English).

We booked half board - the food on the first night was really good (but I could not cope with five courses if you include the salad bar) and the high standard was maintained throughout the week. The wine list was pretty good too - I asked the waiters to recommend good wines and they did not dissapoint. The hotel was ideally situated for exploring being just next to the jetty where the many ferries docks.

Room Tip: Get a room overlooking the lake - some rooms overlook a square which can be a bit noisy.

“great location & great menu”

great location for centre of resort & getting the ferries. quiet room overlooking the lake but to have a balcony would be better.Hotel & restaurant staff very helpful speaking good english & understanding my basic Italian. Apart from one night, there
was always something to choose from the evening menu. Resort & ferries were quite expensive but when you are in such a beautiful area you have to explore it.
Great holiday, just need to do the north of the lake now, it would be too much to do in one day & not long enough in the north of the lake.
Research the other towns before you visit, some you could spend hours in others a coffee or spritz is long enough.
Overall a great holiday & a place to visit time & again.
Lookout for the dogs in buggies or handbags !!
