Superb, modern hotel, very tastefully renovated, but let down by a few niggly problems.
The hotel's best two features are:
1. excellent location (apart from busy road) BEFORE you get into the very congested city centre, meaning parking, access, etc. is good.
2. the well designed and maintained lawn area with plenty of seating, sun loungers, etc. on well-kept grass. There is also a nice jetty from which we were able to take a boat to the old town and bathe occasionally.
However...
I had booked a luxury room overlooking the lake, but when we arrived I was told a lake view was not available, so we were given a room overlooking the busy road. This meant it was too noisy to leave the doors open at night, and as the A/C was even louder, we effectively had no ventillation at all. The A/C could only be turned off by calling reception and asking them to do it on their computer.
I also agree with the reviewer who said the luxury rooms are not luxurious. They are tiny, particularly the bathroom which was so small I had to sit on the toilet diagonally to avoid my knees digging into the tiling on the wall opposite.
The Wifi was out of order and the cable connection in our room was very expensive. The fridge was only cool rather than cold and the breakfasts, while copious, were VERY POOR for a hotel like this. Cheap bread, plastic cheese, orange juice out of a bottle, no eggs...
Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but it could have been a lot nicer with just a little effort to get rid of the niggling problems.
Room Tip: Avoid the rooms overlooking the busy main road
