My husband and I passed through Como on our way to Zurich, so we only stayed one night at this hotel. I have to say it looked good from the front, but once inside, - extremely disappointing.
The front office staff was friendly, but everything is chargeable - 15Euro for parking, 5Euro for 30mins of internet, etc. For a 4 star hotel, one would expect these facilities to be part of the service.
Because it was only a short stay, we decided to get a nice room with the lake view - room 227. On our way to the room, we passed by the hallway where the roof appears to be leaking and there was a bucket on the floor catching the drips!! Not a nice start. Once inside the room, everything was disappointing. The room was tiny, you can barely walk around the bed because the fridge/TV stand is in the way. The bathroom is dated and has a large crack running along the floor near the shower. There is an old noisy fan heater in the room which kept turning on and off all night. The hotel menu on the TV suggests that there's wired internet in the room, but when we enquired about it, we were told that it doesn't exist anymore and we have to pay for WIFI internet. Even internet from the business centre is charged at the same rate.
We did get a nice view of the lake and the hotel is a easy walk to the shops, so that's about the only positives from this hotel. I would say it is definitely NOT a 4 star hotel, more like 3 star.
