We stayed in Hotel Bellagio in early June 2012, for 4 nights. We received a polite & friendly welcome from the reception staff & found this to be the case throughout our stay with all of staff (reception, cleaning & breakfast) being particularly friendly.
For a 2* hotel we were particularly impressed with the room(s) with which we were provided, they were spacious & very clean with en-suite facilities. The only negative of the stay was that for 2 nights we had to listen to a faulty air con system which made a vibrating noise about every 5 mins, rendering sleep impossible. We should have notified the hotel of this after the 1st night but we too busy thinking about the holiday, as after we made them aware they soon made every effort to find us with an alternative room. The 2nd room we were provided with had a partial lake view (as opposed to our non-lake view in the 1st room) & we were happy to pay the extra for this.
Breakfast was adequate, with cereals, yoghurts & bread/toast, tea coffee (including to my relief some great espresso), however I suspect some people may find a little too simple & a little too “dry”. There was no hot food available (which wasn’t a problem to me & the hotel states they don’t do this), but something like an option of eggs, ham (& not those pots of processed ham made available) and cheese would have been a welcome addition.
The location of Hotel Bellagio was perfect, & more or less in the middle of the main part of Bellagio, however there are a couple of dozen steps to contend with & this can be tricky with a suitcase. It is worth remembering this if you are having a taxi pick you up or drop you off (from a company outside Bellagio), as they may not know how to get to the hotel. The hotel does have a communal balcony area on the top floor which is nice to escape your room if you need to. Other benefits of staying in this hotel (not that we used them) included a 10% off the bill at the Hotel Du Lac restaurant & also entry into a sports type facility higher up in Bellagio. There is no bar here but there are naturally plenty of facilities for food & drink in Bellagio itself.
Overall we were very impressed with this hotel & it proved that you that don’t need to chose the most expensive hotels in Bellagio, to have an adequate base for your holiday. We would stay here again.
