Perfect location for short stay in Bergamo. Short drive from the airport so a car is necessary. Nice modern hotel with reasonable sized rooms. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was substantial and staff courteous and helpful. Excellent value for money. Nice restaurant within walking distance nearby. Not sure how suitable a location this would be for a longer stay in Bergamo without a car though.

The Executive is superb. A real gem of a medium-sized hotel, it serves great breakfasts and has well-furnished, spacious rooms with large beds.

It's about 20 minutes out of Bergamo by car, but makes up for that with the ample free parking, and friendly staff.

Ask for directions to L'Abbazia Restaurant (10 minutes walk) or Le Pelosetta (8 minutes by car) where the seafood is astonishingly good.

Bergamo itself with the Citta Alta, old town, is not to be missed and largely unspoilt by tourism or crowds. Don't miss the Baroque gilt roof of the enchanting Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore in the centre.

Wander the the ancient cobbled streets and alleys or explore the rugged beauty of the Citta Aperta (a hill park with open space and some housing) and when you are hungry enough dine at the corner of the Piaza Vecchia in the truly wonderful, authentic Bergamasc restaurant "Il Sole".

These are just some tips on the Executive and Bergamo. Suffice to say that Bergamo is one of the best places to visit in the whole of Norhern Italy. We can't wait to go back there!

Getting to the hotel was a problem. Our flight was delayed and we has problems getting a taxi from the arport. The journey cost 42 Euros because it was after midnight. The hotel is approx 20 minutes from the airport. Despite the late arrival the wecome was warm. The room was excellent and the hotel was very quiet.
Breakfast was fine and overall the stay was a great start to our Italian holiday.

Stayed at the end of our holiday and found everything to be as good as the comments on this site said. We had a car so the distance to Bergamo (and airport) was no problem. Although our room was at the front of the hotel, the traffic noise didn't disturb us. Room, breakfast and staff excellent - the hotel deserves to prosper. Be sure to visit the old part of Bergamo (on the hill), if you get the chance.
