This hotel operates strange policy, whereby they close the doors at 1 p.m. so you cannot come back in after that time.
This is simply absurd in the 21st century for international travellers, especially in Italy, when the dinner is late and often followed by a trip to the bar.
Another thing, there are different rates advertised, on the hotel room’s door and those you end up paying – this seemed a bit wrong.
The hotel manager did not think there was anything wrong with either the prices or the closing time of the hotel. She also remained unconvinced about giving us the key, so that we could come back whatever time we wanted from the dinner.

Stayed here for 3 nights with some friends. Just looking for a good time i Bergamo.

The location of the hotel is great. Right where it happens in citi alta. Nice restaurants and shops nearby. The rooms are quite small, and our bathroom was not great. But the room was clean and nice. Very helpful staff.

Skip the breakfast. Quite cheap, but boring. Spend your money on a local restaurant instead and enjoy great Italian food.

Only two negative experiences. The churches (there’s a lot of them around there) makes a lot of noise early in the morning. And the hotel is actually closed between 01.00 am 06.00 am. You are hereby warned…

Otherwise; can absolutely recommend this hotel.

This hotel is in a very central location in the historic part of Bergamo, you can reach by foot most of the city historical highlights. If you go by car you can park for free near there with a pass they give you. It is in a very nice historic palace and it has a good restaurant. The staff is friendly BUT remember it is a two star hotel: very small rooms (the bathroom was large, though), plain furniture, few services. It looked quite clean, but my husband is alergic to dust mites and started sneezing as soon as he sat on the bed

I stayed here for three nights in August and was very satisfied with the hotel.

The hotel is located on one of the main streets in the Upper Town, very close to the Tourist Information and a few minutes walk from Piazza Vecchia. It’s an old type of buiding ( but with a lift). The furniture in the bedroom was very solid and the whole place gave the impression of being very well cared for. My room and bathroom were spotless: large good quality bath towel and thorough room cleaning each day.. (I had a single room on the fifth floor overlooking the street/square.) All the staff I met were very pleasant and helpful:

One thing to be aware about is that because of its excellent location, there is a fair amount of noise from the street ( pedestrians walking home late at night: delivery vans arriving early in the morning; and shops opening/closing. (Last year I stayed at Il Ciliegio : very quiet but located on the outskirts of Lower Bergamo)

Would I stay here again? Definitely!!!
