Was there this weekend. Very standard 3 stars, but at 90 Euros/night for a large room (2 adults+1kid), we could not complain. Didn't see any AC so be careful if you're going there mid-summer. As for Santa Margherita, it's very charming : old-fashioned and elegant. DOs : the sea, a half-day trip to Portofino, eat at I Pescatori and Da Alfredo. DONTs : eat at il Frantoio (too slow and messy, but good), visit during very high season (too much traffic for such a small city). ENJOY ! PS: we had 90 Euros by contacting directly, on the web, the cheapest was 160 !!!!

The hotel had wonderful staff, clean and nice rooms. It's not a luxurious hotel, but for the price, it's perfect. The hotel is a non-snobbish place in a very snobbish town. OK to visit for a couple of days, but not a place to hang out for a long time. Most of the beach is occupied by private hotels or bars. Normal people only are allowed to use a few meters. Many places along the Ligurian coast that are much better.

If you're looking for a budget priced hotel that is clean and close to the center of this little coastal town, this is the place. Can be a little noisy. The hotel is next to an apartment building. Shower so-so. All in all, value for the dollars.

We stayed in the "budget room" of the hotel and it was better than I expected! Room was clean and spacious, and we even had our own washbasin. Shower was on the 4th floor, but it was worth the walk! In the morning they provided breakfast which was fine. For the price, I don't think you could get anything better in Santa Margherita. Really enjoyed our stay here!
