Beautiful and stately hotel located about 3 to 4 miles from Portofino. The staff is welcoming and friendly and can not do enough for their guests. The wi-fi connection is free and even gives the guests a printer to anything they need. Nice touch. We enjoyed a dinner in their dining room which is elegant and the food and service was very good. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the Med. which was wonderful. Worth asking for and enjoying. If this hotel is not a 5 star I do not know what could be added to make it more impressive. It is an easy drive to Portofino, but would not want to drive that road in the dark.

Beautiful small hotel located in a perfect spot - overlooking the Sea - we had a lovely room on the top floor with a balcony (you must request one) - we had nice breakfast which was included in our rate - we enjoyed having a glass of wine or a cocktail every night sitting outside overlooking the beautiful view - we will be back!

Why this hotel has only 4 stars rather than five, I can't imagine. There is really nothing more they can offer. Service is top notch, location is wonderful, rooms are lovely and grounds are beautiful. The hotel's private beach is located just across the street, and front rooms have a nice sea view. Rooms in the back overlook a very nice garden area. There is a beautiful terrace where breakfast is served each morning, and you can enjoy wine or cocktails there in the afternoon and evening. It's just a short walk to the center of town, where you will find many charming shops and restaurants. There is also a very nice salt water swimming pool with plenty of lounge chairs. We've stayed at this hotel three times now, and it's our favorite place on the Italian Rivera. It's very easy to take a boat from here to Portofino for lunch or dinner, but there is far more to do in Santa Margarita.

As one part of my trip in Italy , I stayed at this hotel to visit Portofitno, Cinque Terre, Porto Venere. This hotel is located 20 minutes walk from Santa Margherita LIgure railway station or 5 minutes bus ride.
This hotel is facing the sea and the view from my room with veranda was nice ! In the morning I could see the very impressive sunrise. There is a road in front of the hotel (between the sea and the hotel), but the windows seem to be very well sound proof.So I was not at all disturbed by any noise from the outside.
The room was not wide, but very well designed to use. For example, the door to the bathroom is a sliding door ! Wonderful!
The bed, the desk, the chair and the sofa and any other thing in the room were all of very good size and placed in a right place. So very comfortable. The interior design s very chic and pretty.
As to the bathroom, it is also very well designed and equipped and awfully clean ! Fantastic.
Every night I took my dinner here and enjoyed them every time. Most of them tasted well and the service was also very good. The Managers service was grand hotel style.
As to Santa Margherita Ligure, I recommend everybody who plans to stay in the Italian Riviera Region to stay there.
You can stay here at reasonable price and eat also at very good price level.
