We stayed here three nights even though we had planned two, because it was okay, and not worth the effort of moving around. The service was good, they were very helpful when we asked to stay an extra night (they had to move some people around so we could keep the room we had). The lady who was there when we arrived tried to be helpful when we had questions about the area, but she didn't really speak English. The hotel has a few parking spaces (2 or 3) on the road outside the hotel which they charge 10 EUR for, and we were lucky and got one of them. There is also a big public parking lot right next to the hotel where you can park for the same price, but there is a marked there every Thursday, so between 6am and 3pm on Thursdays you have to find somewhere else to park.
The room is okay, although the bed was too hard, and it looks a bit old. The AC blew directly on the bed which was a bit annoying, but much better than not having AC. Most of the bathroom was fine, but the shower was not good - very strange angle and in a dirty bathtub, and mould on the window. Breakfast was fine. We got what we expected for a three star.
Rapallo itself is a good base for visits to other places, we had one day in Cinque Terre and one day in Genova. About 1 hour by train to both places, and trains go roughly once per hour.
