We booked Albergo Teatro as we were on a budget and just wanted a place to rest each night after our adventures on Cinque Terra, our host was a most helpful chap but the room (bathroom ensuite) was so tiny it wasn't funny. The shower was a struggle to access and we are both quite small. There was a useless chest of draws (Large) in the one corner of the room but the draws were screwed shut? so no use for storage at all. Unfortunately we had gone by some reviews that said the room was clean, we did not find this to be the case. In fact I had to clean my filthy feet before climbing into bed as the floor was covered in dirt and grime that we had not carried in. On arriving back from a day of hiking we couldn't find the bath mat for our shower and later discovered it hanging out the window - left to dry but it hadn' t been laundered. If you want a place to stay while walking Cinque then I recommend you find a place closer to the train station. That way it is no hardship trying to make the early train and no long walk at the end of a tiring day. There was no breakfast option but the trainstation has quick and average food at a good price. On our host recommendation we found an amazing seafood restaurant on the foreshore, and Cinque is incredible!

As you can see we never responded to any review but this will give you an answer. Let's start from the shower, is the hotels standard size 70x70 , we have the same at home.
The hotel is in the historic center in the pedestrian shopping area, 1.2 km away from the station, as can be seen on google maps, there is very little crime in La Spezia, but it is right around the station.
As for cleaning, we do not have maids to blame, we are a family business that takes all the passion and love at work, for years and still we have been chosen by many guidebooks, including Lonely Planet and Routard for our own clean, wash and sweep the floor every day of all the rooms, bathrooms and corridors.
We are very sorry that a customer be dissatisfied,
at the check out will always ask if everything went well and luckily we have a lot of positive feedback, we are ready to commit ourselves ever more to what we can, we are preparing for the impossible.
