The hotel is very small in a little building, it is more like a room in a house than a hotel. There is alwas someone available, but there is no A/C. The rooms are clean and it is located 10 minutes from the train station. great location if you want to visit La Spezia and the Cinque Terre. The woman there is very nice and she showed us her apartment upstairs. Good place if you are on a budget, but a very simple room.

Both my wife neither I could sleep any of the 2 nights we stayed there. The street right below the windows of the rooms is very loud. I would avoid it if you want to have any energy to actually enjoy La Spezia.

I payed only 25 euros for a night in a single room without bathroom, at the end of May. If you are a hiker looking for a good place to jumpstart your trip to Cinque Terre, this is your place. If you are on a romantic or apleasure trip, avoid this hotel. The room was clean (Ikea style), the bathroom was adequate, but other than that everything else was extremely basic. This is definitely better than sleeping in a tent, but remember, it is just a one start hotel. No breakfast, no internet, service did not exist. Quiet only between 12 and 7:30am. No English spoken, owner old style.

I would recommend this small hotel on the basis that it is very good value and is probably best suited for people just stopping in the area for a night or two and just need a bed for the night. The room I had was spacious and clean, if a little dated, with the only downside being that I had to go along the corridor to use the bathroom. As I don't speak Italian and the owner does not speak English, it would have been difficult if I had need to make enquiries or ask for help with anything, but as it as, we understood each other enough. The hotel is in a nice part of town - right opposite the theatre, and I could hear the music from a show from my bedroom! Breakfast is not included.
