Nice 4-5 star older Hotel with outstanding rooms renovated for a Boutique feel closr to the train station.For 130 Euro on last minute AARP/Expedia.com site got a very nice room
no view to speak of and the best free breakfast buffet I had while in Italia.
Staff was a bit indifferent and not terribly responsive but they were quite
busy as I got the last room for the nite.A nice for price upscale stay when in Genoa.

This family run hotel is full of charm. The staff were lovely and could not do enough to help. The hotel has some beautiful original features, with high ceilings and an amazing lift. Our room had an art deco feel, was a good size and very clean. A good selection of food for breakfast. There is parking available outside the hotel (however at a small charge). It's well located only a short walk to the shops and town centre.

We arrived without prior knowledge and the staff was so friendly and helpful that we were impressed. That was just the beginning; We received the key to our room (410) and when we opened the door we were sad to realize we would only be spending one night in it. Although simple, it was huge and comfortable, everything we needed and much more. The street is a bit loud but we could not hear anything.
The location superb, a short walk from the train station and a short walk from the center of town and Via Garibaldi which is gorgeous.
Morning coffee was spent talking to the friendliest barista in town while enjoying a great capuccino.
For lunch the hotel staff recommended the nicest little restaurant nearby which, for a change, turned out to be wonderful and inexpensive.

Just a fantastic experience.

This hotel was really close to the train station, walking distance to the very cool historical part of the town and the fenicular, which gives a panoramic view of the city, and it is a short cab ride to the port harbor. It had a cool turn of the century elevator with iron grates that you could see through. The room was a little funky with mis-matched furniture to carpets and I would ask for a room not on the street side next time. But we LOVED the huge vintage bathroom and the mile high cielings. It was fun and it was obvious the hotel was catering to Europeans rather than Americans (a fact we found enjoyable). A really big breakfast was included. Egg, meats, yogurts, pastries...very nice.
