“very noisy rooms”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 June 2010

Very close to the boardwalk along the coast, but it is two bus transfers away from the main train station (Genoa Piazza Pri). Free Wi-fi, but signal is weak. The walls in my room are like paper --- could hear every word of people talking in the next room, as well as their TV and alarm clock and bathroom. Staff doesn't speak too much English, and was frustrated at us for talking to them in English (waving us away and telling us to "go ask someone else"). Some of the used bathroom towels were collected, but they do not replace them with fresh ones. Few choices in buffet breakfast, and they were always short on toast.

“Nice Hotel with some problems - Great Location”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2008

The hotel is not placed in the center of Genoa. It is in an area called Boccadasse. You need to take a 20 minutes bus to get the downtown. For me, that was a wonderful thing as we preffer the nearby areas, not the main and noisy ones. Bocadasse is a town almost taken from a dream, with typicall and colourful houses over the mediterranean sea and nice to walk along the promenade which has amazing views of the intense blue sea.

Rooms are nice and clean with shower and lovely views (not all of them have views; I stay at the ground floor and the view was a parking; Then, I changed the room and went to the first floor so I've got a pretty view).

Breakfast is average.

The staff were terrible: the lady who serve breakfast shouted me because I took the cereal with the wrong spoon; nobody speaks english or spanish and instead to make an effort to comunicate something (even gestures would have been helpful), they seem to be upset because you don't speak italian.

My first room had no telephone so I had to use the public one -inside the hotel- but the concierge get upset everytime he had to give me line -the telephone of the concierge and the public one share the same line-.

They have one computer with Internet but it's better if you find some place to send e-mails given the connection is like an old and rusty carriage and you have to pay for it.

“Wonderfully located near a fishing village”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 June 2008

My wife and I stayed here for 7 days from late May to early June 2008. We found it to be very good for our purposes. There is a nearby fishing village where the Genevese come because they find it chic. Lots of nearby, mainly seafood, restaurants. Nice to be able to walk along a wide promenade with restaurants overlooking the sea, or set in a nice garden. The hotel staff were good, they speak some English and are always polite and the reception staff try to be helpful with suggestions about attractions, and places to visit, and how to get the bus, or train to get to them. We had a room on the top floor with a terrace and a sea view. The room was clean and was cleaned every day. Only down side to this hotel is the breakfast, it was self service with very little choice, always the one type of salami. The good point about the breakfast is that it is available almost all morning and therefore you do not need to rush unless you need to.
