We were going from Nice to Florence and decided to stay at Genova for the night. The hotel was spotless clean, really close to the station (which was woderfull, we had lots of lugage to carry around) and the staff is very friendly. It is also very close to the Aquarium and other atractions at the port.
When we located the hotel and saw the stairs we were trully afraid to have to climb ALL of them but there are lots of plaques indicating the way to catch an elevator lift to the hotel.
If we go to Genova again, I would certainly stay there again.

I have booked Hotel Vittoria through Booking.com for two night - the hotel is somewhat basic but sparkling clean. Decor is certainly dated but I found it nostalgic and liked it. It is very close to Principe station so it is hard to get lost. With sudden change of plan I had to leave hotel after one night, I of course intended to pay for 2 night but the owner insisted that only pay for one night, actually he has contacted Booking.com to alter my reservation in order for me not paying 2 nights!!! It is comforting that you get such a good care from hotel...I wil stay here again when I come back to Genova.

this hotel is very easy to find from the central train station. the reception is unexpectedly unwelcoming because you have to enter through 1 general entrance and take a separate hotel vittoria lift up to the reception. it reminded me of 1980s hotels in hong kong mongkok. it was slightly unnerving.
but the hotel is otherwise clean and meets the requirement for an overnight stay in genoa with walking access to the train station.

We needed a hotel for a night while traveling by train from Milan to Florence. Hotel Vittoria was very close to the train station, clean, had a good breakfast and was reasonably priced. Everything we needed. I'd stay there again.
