We spent there one night on the way to Marseille. The hotel is centrally located. I would not say it is charming or nice, its basic, old fashioned, but clean. The staff is unfriendly, exception is the guy in the tiny garage (parking €25 for one night extra charge) that has to move the cars when somebody wants to leave. It is fun to see him arranging all the cars as if he was playing chess. Our room was quite, overlooking the garage :-)(booked via booking.com), the air conditioner did not work, but it was windy, so we left all the windows open. The breakfast is a disaster: canned fruits, cheap yoghurts, bread is a nightmare - i do not know how the hotel gets 4 stars categorisation. But Genua is worth a longer visit, for somebody who plans a city trip, i would recommend to look for something else.
