“Excellent hotel - if you can find it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2011

Made the booking through Yeego.com. All our Yeego bookings worked flawlessly. Hotel is moderately priced and afforded every reasonable amenity (except free wifi which we didn't need at this stop). Breakfast was excellent, including "squeeze your own" orange juice. Free parking a plus. We used this as a base for a day trip to Santa Margherita Ligure and Portofino. As other reviewers have mentioned it's a 20 minute walk to the train station. Still not sure how we found the hotel; driving instructions were terrible. Hints: reference to the "Ferry Terminal" refer to the mainline ferries to Tunis and Palermo. If you can find the lighthouse (Laterna di Genova) the hotel is about 400 meters north of the lighthouse. Inexpensive food and provisioning available in the shopping mall just below the hotel.

Room Tip: Definitely request a room overlooking the harbor and ferry terminal for great views.

“Few days in Genova”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2011

I stayed there for 3 nights, and, as total, I was pleased by the services offered by this hotel. The room was fine, clean, there was no noise from the ferrie. It was great in the morning to see the ships and the sea a few meters away from you. Breakfast was delicious. There was also internet down, in the hall, but not free.
For a great morning, after breakfast, have a walk to the Lanterna, the light house that is 10-15 min from the hotel.

It is true that it is a bit far from the center, but there are busses that can take you anywhere you want. It was good that at the ferry terminal (5min away) there were some shops and even a Mcdonalds, so I could buy some things from there too.

“Not a 4 star hotel to canadians!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011 via mobile

We were suppose to stay here 3 nights before our cruise but we checked out early we only stayed 2 nights because we hated it and 1 night after our cruise because it was closer to the airport then savona. The reception staff was average, our room before our cruise was very small no water pressure and water temperature was not regulated either cool or very hot in the shower. The ac was broken and it was extremely hot and stuffy in our room so we had to have the room open and had a hard time sleeping due to the port noises and in the morning about 6am a long line of cars waiting to go to the ferry were honking their horns for about an hour so no sleep there.
The only nice thing about this place is the lady in the restaurant at night tried be accommodating to us and was so friendly and the breakfast was nice other than that HATED this place it was awful :(

“Noisy on port, inexpensive and clean”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2011

This was an inexpensive hotel we booked when we could not reach our destination in Cinque Terre due to the horrific floods. This place was right by the main ferry terminal and the commercial (as in trucks 24/7) port area. It was a LONG walk to the city center---worth it for us though. Had parking, another plus, pay for internet access which is not so great. The room we had was clean and faced the port, which I think was better than facing the highway. The breakfast was good, its is an industrial area but if you need parking, and can tolerate the truck sounds, it was adequate. The pluses---next to the lighthouse, a great restaurant that locals including the firemen were eating--it's accross the street about 200 ft away. I was able to wash out laundry and dry it due to the nice breeze from the port. The San Lorenzo cathedral is worth the walk---if you are not in shape and fear some shady characters, take a taxi.

“Excellent Hotel For View Of Genoa Harbour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2011

First of all any reviews that say the nopise of the ferries are a problem is a complete nonsense. You should ask for a room that overlools the ferry port for excellent views of the city. The noise is no noise when the room window is shut. We stayed one night on 15 September 2011 and enjoyed our stay especillly watching the care coming off the ferry. I am pleased we arrived in Genoa by train as one ferry was unloading for over 2.5 hours. The hotel is easy to find from the station by just heading right from the station and following the nearest road to the shore. About a 20 minute walk to the hotel.

Do not foget to request a room overlooking the port as the views are worth it ignore any posts that say the noise of the ferries are a nuisance.

Overall we enjoyed are stay and would recommend the hotel.

Room Tip: Romms that overlook the ferry port for the views of the city.
