I was there for 2 nights to avail of a special lastminute.com offer, at 65e per night prepaid. for genova the price is very good, as for this price you only get a good 2 or fair 3 star hotel. i knew the old rooms were bad so when i arrived i asked for a room on the new area of the hotel. sadly, i was told that there are no standard rooms in the new area, only superior or deluxe, which would have cost extra. I remained with the origina booking, standard room. the room was ok, but very old, very small, and the door entrance had door jambs loose, almost falling apart. the pink carpet, similar to what tripadvisor users show, is very old and full of stains. breakfast is the only 4 star component of my stay. And just so you know, internet is free wifi only at reception, with 30 min password. otherwise they charge a fortune. Location is ok, but there are 2 set of stairs for the underpass that get you to the other side of the piazza corvetto (as the road is very busy and there are no pedestrians cross points), which is a bit of a pain if u have bags or kids with u.

Very good hotel, right off the plaza & park. Very close to good restaurants & shopping. Small rooms, but quiet / sound proof rooms make for a very good sleep! Would definitely recommend. And yes the breakfast that is included was one of the better during our Italian vacation.

Rooms are designed with Italian schick, wonderful shiny bathroom with pampering amnities. The stuff are very friendly and helpful. there wasn't any request that they refused. Business guests will find that the hotel is located at the heart of Genoa business district.
Unlike most hotels in Europe in which you'll find a jam and coffee as "Continental" breakfast, at NH Plaza yo will be served with much more "significant" breakfast buffet.
Should they ask me for improvements, I would add an in room iron.
Oh ! almost gorgot, the price was very resonable.

If you want great location in central Genoa, this hotel is for you.
If you want service, politeness, wi-fi, a comfortable modern room this hotel isn't for you.
Upon check-in the receptionist didn't say any more to me other then "C'iao" & "your passport". Then she passed me a massive keyring. Not a great impression. Room VERY old & tired along with the old TV box. No maps of the city or general information. The wi-fi was a joke. 30 minutes free down in the lobby which was slow as.
The hotel manager really needs to take notice of their guests comments. Not even the breakfast staff could even acknowledge you!
