We rented this hotel through expedia and was very surprised at the quality of what we recieved for the price that we paid. This is truly a good safe hotel, and is close to exclusive shopping. We had arrived by train from Venice at Principe train station, and found that two busses number 34 and 36 come within 50 metres of the hotel. We hauled our cases on the bus, talked to the driver and the locals, they ensured we got off at the proper stop. This was easy and cheap. You buy you tickets for the bus at the tobacco shops or news stand and cost one and a half Euros per ticket.
Do not give beggars any money, we were hit up on the train and the bus, they are all part of a huge family tribe, that live better than most people in Europe. They use their children as props and ask for money for food, do not fall for this ploy. They rake in hundreds of thousands a year, and live a far superior lifestyle than most Europeans.
The reason we were in Genoa was to catch the ship MSC Splendida for an eleven day Eastern Med. cruise
I have to add, we went up the street close to the hotel and found a very small Pizza place, they had 3 Euro beer in huge bottles, and the best Pizza I ever tasted for six and a half Euros. I just wish I could remember the name of the place.
