“Highly recommend this B&B!!”

Giacomo was a fantastic host and made us feel welcome to Genoa, Italy! The Bed & Breakfast is on a tiny street and is a beautifully renovated old residence. He let us wash our small load of clothes and gave us restuarant and travel ideas. He and his family even brought our bags from and to the parking garage for us.

Truly a high point of our first trip to Italy!

Stayed July 2009, travelled with family

“Good stay at San Lorenzo”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2008

The owners of San Lorenzo were very helpful in explaining how to find their little B&B tucked away in a great location right next to the cathedral. It is a small B&B run run by a friendly and helpful family. The rooms are in a 2 bedroom flat, each bedroom with ensuite bathroom shares a communal kitchenette/ sitting room. A copious breakfast was laid out in the morning in the sitting room. Everything was spotlessly clean and there were nice touches like bottles of water in the room and good quality toiletries. The rooms were comfortable and had ample storage space. The owners suggested places to eat out and provided tourist information as well as ringing to book me a taxi when I left and then carrying my luggage to the taxi.
The only disadvantage is that the old building has steep stairs so would not be suitable for people with impaired mobility. Also the layout of the building meant that the bedroom did not have much natural light. However there's plenty to do in the city so you'd be out anyway, so this wasn't a problem. Overall San Lorenzo is recommended as providing a comfortable stay that was good value for money .

  • Liked — great location next to the cathedral
  • Disliked — steep stairs to get up to the rooms
