We stayed at the Elisabetta at the beginning of July with our 2 sons for 4 nights. We absolutely loved this place!! As many reviewers have stated, the views are amazing! Personally, when I book a hotel, it is all about the views for me and not so much about the inside of the room as we are rarely inside!
We arrived to find a large, spacious apartment with a pull-out bed downstairs for the kids and a double bed upstairs. We also had a kitchenette that had a fridge for drinks, a kettle and a few plates...not enough to cook a full meal there if that is what you wanted to do but we found amazing restaurants (La Pirate at the entrance to the town from the car parking lot...can't say enough great things about this restaurant...amazing pastries for breakfast, incredible food for lunch and dinner, as well as Il Torre which is on the path to the Cornigula just a bit higher than the hotel...great food and views!).
The bathroom was on the smaller side and every time someone had a shower, everything got all wet as the curtain was quite small but we have found that to be the norm in most places in Italy and in Europe in general. The bed was on the hard side, but again, that seems to be the norm in Italy!
There are quite a few stairs to climb but they were very manageable and not a big deal if you know in advance that you will need to climb stairs. We loved Vernazza and were glad we had picked this town to stay in. Our boys loved taking the boat from town to town although we did hike between Vernazza and Monterosso...brutal hike but what a great sense of accomplishment when we were done! There is not Wi-Fi in the hotel but our boys found that by sitting on the steps outside of the hotel, they were able to find Wi-Fi out there.
They were just finishing the renovations outside of the hotel and the first morning we arrived, the men arrived to take town the scaffolding at 8:00am...not the best wakeup call but this is a real town where real people live so you have to expect that is will not be a silent place to stay.
The roof top terrace was the highlight for us and we spent all of our time that we were at the hotel up there. We found the owners to be very helpful and friendly and whenever we saw them in town, they would greet us and ask how things were going.
This hotel was great value and well worth it! I would go back there again and again!
