“Why not!?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2011

We've been at the Hotel 2 Gemelli with my wife this last week-end for our wedding anniversary.
The hotel is very well located if you wanna spend 2 days in the 5 Terre area : at the very far south end of the National Park you can reach easly Riomaggiore and from there start your trip through the wonderful area.
Only hic is it's probably too old and rooms shall be definitely sound-proofed for you can hear everything going on around you. I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you're looking for a quiet place where you can rest and stay at bed late in the morning.
Otherwise, owners are very kind and helpful in advising you on your trips through the area.

“Good View - Thats all”

This is a Family run hotel with a great view.
The hotel is probably from the seventies, so is a bit dated. Is a good place to start visiting Cinque Terre if you have a car, because of the free parking. The bus to Riomaggiore stops in front of the hotel, so thats a plus.
The bad thing is that there is no elevator, so avoid the bottom roons as you must carry your lugagge downstairs.
Also there is nothing near the hotel, so if you don´t have a car you will feel a bit isolated.
It´s hard to find a hotel in cinque terre during the summer season, so Due Gemelli is a ok option. However I would try to find a hotel in one of the villages next time.

“Awesome views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 May 2011

Great location, easy to find and parking is a bonus. More like a roadside motel but more than adequate and comfortable. Fantastic dinner and breakfast with a real family feel. If you want to see the villages - take the boat. The trainline can be delayed (we waited over an hour) and travels mainly thought tunnel, sadly we did not have time to do any of the walks - think the views would be well worth the effort. Great views from the room balcony out over the forest and then the ocean.

“Old style family service with great views in an older hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2011

We found this mom and pop establishment just by luck and it turned into a wonderful memory. Were the accommodations comfortable? Not really. Was it old and dated? Yes, but the charm of the entire place was worth it. The family was more than accommodating, generous and made every effort to ensure the comfort of our stay. We had 2 balconies in our large room that enabled us to see the moonlight bounce off of the ocean. Outstanding! The rooms were clean, the bathroom was nice & more updated. We ate a great dinner there as well. We were even late getting up for breakfast and tried to leave without eating and the staff insisted that we come back in. It is in the Cinque Terre area and good place to stay in order to see the park. If you want the older, real Italian experience, this is the place to stay.
