“Clean and Charming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2010

My girlfriend and I booked a room in Casa Dei Limoni for 3 nights for the duration of our stay in Cinque Terre. Casa Dei Limoni is located in Monterosso which is the most north village in Cinque Terre. The house is located on a hill at the end of main street, overlooking the whole village. It's a newly renovated - and nicely decorated with a modern touch - farm house surrounded with lemon and olive trees. Generally all the 5 villages are pretty quite at nights and not much of a night life however it seemed like Monterosso is better than the other 4 in that sense and that was why we chose Monterosso as our base.
Our room had a nice balcony overlooking the village - beautiful view - which we used every morning to have a cup of tea and enjoy the view. They also served continental breakfast which was decent and included deli meats, cereal, fruits and yogurt and so on.
Just as everyone else mentioned, there is a stairway to get to the house which was not a problem at all (we were expecting worse). You should be prepared for some hiking if you go to Cinque Terre anyway.
Overall we were very happy with our stay and would definitely recommend Casa Dei Limoni to anyone who plans to stay in Monterosso.

“Not the best experience...”

The B&B itself is clean and more or less comfortable, but it is out of the way, and the climb up with luggage (ours was minimal), truly strenuous. Our room was directly off the main lobby, without as much as a hallway separating it, and although our confirmation said that we would be getting an "ocean view" room, it actually faced the mountain and highway (not a bad view, but certainly not the ocean). The complimentary breakfast was plentiful. The manager/owners were polite and helpful (if not particularly friendly) and gave really good recommendations for dinner (Belvedere restaurant--- excellent). All that said, I would probably consider trying a different place to stay than Casa dei Limoni next time I'm in Cinque Terre.

“beautiful small boutique hotel in cinque terre”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2010

yes there are steps. but they are not steep and lit at night therefore are good for some exercise after dinner. but it´s true, that when you are at the beach or at the harbour you do not feel like walking back up to the hotel.
yes, the rooms are small with no space to open and put a big suitcase. We left ours in the car, that we parked in the public parking right at the street under the hotel and just brought up a small bag containing only those things we needed for the 2 nights we stayd there. E.g. our beachtowels were left in the car and we just got them out every morning and left them there at night.
the rooms are well designed, clean and pretty. we had the best room (nomber 5) with a balcony equipped with two chairs and a table with a beautiful view over monterosso and the sea. The beds are comfortable. We loved the sitting outside the terrasse for breakfast.
Attention: there is no internet conection in the hotel

“Fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2010

We have spent 4 days in the Cinque Terre on our 5 week honeymoon and had a fantastic time in Monterosso. The hotel is situated at the top of the village which gives it an amazing view of the village and the Mediterranean. We knew there would be a lot of steps based on the information on trip advisor and whilst it is not an easy climb with luggage or after dinner in heels after a few wines, it was worth it when we got to the top. If you are in poor health, it may be difficult and I would not recommend it, but the Cinque Terre is full of steep climbs and none presented an issue for us. We had room 5 which has a balcony and we loved every minute of our stay. The lemon tart at breakfast is sensational and the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. I would have no hesitation recommending Casa Dei Limoni to other travelers who want a hotel with an amazing view. I am sure you can find cheaper places but we were happy and had no complaints. The rooms whilst basic were comfortable and the location is great. We loved Monterosso and will come back in the future! Note there is no wifi in the village.

“Perfect & Beautiful Honeymoon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 July 2010

This particular hotel or bed & breakfast was exactly what we needed for our honeymoon. The other reviews about the steps being a very very terrible experience is vastly over-exaggerated in my opinion. If you are in shape and fit, these steps are only "tough" when you are carrying your luggage to the top, so pack light!
The hotel itself is set back and slightly above the town of Monterroso al Mare. Because of this, you have a beautiful view of the historic center of town and the Mediterranean beyond that. The staff at this hotel were very very nice. Every morning I awoke to the wonderful smells of freshly baked bread and pastries being made downstairs. The breakfast was good, every morning and is the same thing every morning: yogurt, granola, coffee, O.J., pastry (croissant w/ powder sugar on top), bread, ham, salami and cheese. Very adequate and tasty. There is no restaurant or bar on the property, but there is a fridge in the room so you can keep stuff to snack on in your room.
All in all, a very beautiful place to stay, we had a beautiful balcony and woke up happy and refreshed every morning.
