Recommended by good friends. Nicoletta and her family greet you like family and ensure your stay is VERY Italian. Easy walk from train station and in the centre of Monterosso. Exceptional breakfast on the balcony at 8:30am and a chance to meet fellow travellers. Very private and very clean! We stayed for only 2 nights and have planned to go back and stay longer next time.

Nicoletta provides an extraordinary welcome, breakfast, and service. We had our expectations exceeded continually in our stay here, and didn't want to leave. If you're staying in Cinque Terre, (and you should!), I would recommend staying here to anyone. One note; try to set a semi-firm arrival time as Nicoletta likes to welcome her guests extravagantly and it must take her some prep time. She will probably offer a (free) cab ride from the train to her rooms, but the walk is very nice Horta so short, and we enjoyed it.

We stayed in La Poesia for 4 nights. A real indulgence, Nicoletta was great. Her worm welcome, with wine and pastries, was a pleasent surprise.
Monterosso is the nicest place to stay in Chinque Terre. It's not the most beautiful (Vernaza wins this title easily) but it's ths most lively one.
We shall definitely be back to Monterosso and stay in La Poesia.

La Poesia is one of the best experiences you will ever have. My husband and I just stayed there for the fifth consecutive year; we talk about it and dream about returning all year long.
Nicoletta is a truly delightful woman! She welcomes each guest and serves you a drink or refreshment upon your arrival on the picture-perfect terrace. The terrace is beautiful: black and white tiles; lovely tables, chairs & umbrellas; beautiful linens; vibrant flowers and fruit trees await you.
In the morning Nicoletta prepares a robust breakfast consisting of omelets; pastries; fresh fruit; ham, cheese, yogurt, cereal, juice and your favorite coffee. It is the perfect way to start the day. Each room is tastefully decorated and has a modern bathroom (the rooms are spotlessly clean and have highly-efficient air-conditioners as well).
Most of all, you will feel that you are having a truly unique experience, the reason you came to Italy in the first place! La Poesia is conveniently located in the old town, steps away from the beach and restaurants.
