Nicoletta was a wonderful hostess and the Giglo Rosso room we stayed in was perfect for our needs. If you ate everything that was offered for breakfast the waistline would expand very fast. Positioned in a quiet side street in the part of town away from the train station it is magical once the day tourists evacuate Monterosso of an evening. The accommodation is a short walk from the station but Nicoletta is happy to send a taxi to collect you and your luggage from the station. The walk isn't that strenuous and unless you have heavy bags is no problem. The terrace where you have breakfast is open for the guests to use all day and is a wonderful spot to relax of an evening with a bottle of old Barolo and a slice of cheese and fruit. The romantic glow from the lights below reflects of the painted homes giving a relaxing ambience that's hard to break free from. Definitely stay in Monterosso don't just visit it during the day. Absorb the serene environment once the day trippers leave and you can appreciate the full Cinque Terre atmosphere.
