“Mediterraneo 2 - Fantastic location and views”

We stayed with friends in this 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom renovated apartment with fantastic views over the small bay of Mararola. The apartment is not huge, like most I expect in this area, but it was well fitted out with a small kitchen area, dinning table with 4 chairs and a 3 seater couch and a couple of chairs. The narrow balcony offered fantastic views over Manarola. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms fairly small but with not very good water pressure in the shower. The washing machine was very useful as was the dishwasher. Like with most of the villages we had about 80 steps up to the apartment so if you can keep your luggage light you will not kill yourself getting it up to the apartment. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The only problems we encountered was we had tiny black ants invade our bedroom and luggage, as we had some lollies in a case, so don't leave any food around. Our friends had a high window in their bedroom with a bright light outside that was on all night but a black plastic garbage bag fixed that.

Would love to stay here again and sit back out on the balcony with my glass of wine and watch the world go by in Manarola.

“Beuatiful location and view!”

We picked this for four days of our honeymoon based on reviews we read here and were not disappointed. The location is perfect, overlooking the harbour from high above the cliffs. The apartment is modern and very comfortable and has a kitchenette so you don't have to eat out all the time. The view is spectacular and is the size of the apartment! Of a night we had huge windstorms though that meant we couldn;t keep anything out there - no hanging clothes, not even the outdoor furniture (I'm sure it was just the few days we were there and time of year). Would be hard pressed to look for a better place if we were to visit again.

“Two fantastic days in Manarola was not enough!”

Cinque Terra and more specifically Manarola were special and something you do not want to miss. One of our only regrets we had in our trip to Italy was in planning ahead, that we did not give ourselves one extra day to just hang out in Manarola. The apartment Mediterraneo that we stayed in Manarola was the most modern, well furnished and cleaner than any of the apartments that we stayed in during our travels. The view from the balcony was breathtaking. We have already recommended this apartment and Manarola to our friends who are planning future trips to Cinque Terra.

The staff at Arbaspaa was very friendly and helpful with all our needs. For months prior to our arrival, we communicated and they were extremely helpful in guiding us into the city, checking in and unloading luggage. One item to be aware of is to be prepared to climb some steps to get to the apartment. We were in Manarola only two evening and had great dinners both nights. If you are someone who enjoys sunsets, get a bottle or two of wine, some cheese, olives and meat and take a right and quick left out of the apartment, climb the 30 steps, pull the bench over to the wall and see one of the most perfect sunsets you will ever see.

“Beautiful place for relaxing - worth every cent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2011

We loved our 5 nights in Mediterraneo 2 and can't wait to go back. We had planned for it to be the relaxing end to our tour and we were not disappointed in any way with this accommodation. It was the most expensive place we stayed in but was worth it - we had our own washing machine, perfectly sized kitchen, lovely bathroom, and that huge balcony!! Everything was clean and in great condition.
Manarola is by far our favourite town in Cinque Terre as it has enough to keep you interested without being too busy. The paths and stairs were also in great condition (Riomaggiore seemed more run down) so access wasn't an issue for us.
Yes, there are a several steep stairs to get to the apartment, but if you've done your research you should know that by now. Your wheelie case is not the best option here - if you can manage one, use a backpack.
We loved swimming in the cove (not as crowded as Monterossa or Riomaggiore) but then again, sitting on the balcony with a bottle of wine enjoying the view was perfect too.

“Best location in Monarola”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2011

Stayed here with my boyfriend and we were very happy with the place. Yes, it's up some stairs but shouldn't be a problem for any able-bodied person. If you can get around Cinque Terre, you can make it to this apartment.

The pictures say it all, it really is as it looks, with one exception - I was a bit disappointed with the balcony. Not misrepresented at all, it just isn't quite as nice as photos (including the furniture which were quite dirty).

Also, there was no iron in the room but when we told Arbaspa about it they were mortified and said they'd rectify it immediately (that was when we checked out so don't know if it was rectified).

View is as it is shown, not full facing the sea but the inlet and square.

The absolute very best part about the whole experience though, was Arabaspa - absolutely, totally so friendly and helpful. They go above and beyond and if you don't end up booking this one I strongly urge you to book one of their other ones. Stellar service.

Just a note on Manarola...there is no beach there, if you want to stay where there is a beach stay in Rioggimore (best) or Vernazza. Manarola is def. on the quieter side as well. And MAKE SURE you dine at Billy's! Thank you Arabaspa for suggesting it me, it was the best meal of our entire trip!
