We stayed at this B&B for three nights in May of 2011. We stayed in the small apartment upstairs while our friends stayed in the room downstairs. Both these rooms are separate from the owner’s apartment so its not like a traditional B&B where you share the accommodations with the owner.
The kitchen and balcony were very small but it was nice to be able to look out at the hillside, hang a few clothes out and listen to the bubbling brook outside our window. The rooms were very clean, the beds were comfortable and the alley/path in front and back of the B&B were very quiet both day and night.
Christine (who speaks English) was very helpful when we arrived and gave us her phone # just in case we needed anything. We could have also contacted her in-laws across the hall but we never found the need. Both our friends and ourselves were very satisfied with our stay here and we would highly recommend it to any of our friends or family.
We visited many beautiful areas (Rome, Amalfi area, Florence, Bellagio and Venice) on our visit to Italy but if we had to pick one, I think the Cinque Terre (especially Manarola) would be our favourite. However, the Cinque Terre is very hilly so if you have any issues with your legs or walking, you may want to stick to the larger towns at either end of the Cinque Terre.
Recommendations for Manarola: a) take the trail entrance behind the B&B (its right across the path/road when you look out the balcony) which leads up thru the vineyards and overlooks the town and then back down to the seaside AND, b) dinner at Billys is a ‘must’.
