We stayed at this hotel after reading the reviews and even though we had issues with the spa it was a very good hotel. We went during off season and were able to get a good rate. I originally booked the hotel because I wanted to soak in the hot tub and get a massage. I was very disappointed that it was so difficult to book a massage. At one point I came back to the hotel for my scheduled massage time only to find out that the therapist was not coming. I think this was difficult because it was off season. I was also disappointed in the hot tub. It is beautiful and has a great view but as others have noted the water was not hot. It was like climbing into a bathtub that had been hot 20 minutes ago and was now cooler. Not very pleasant. I spoke to the front desk manager about this and he noted that this was not an unusual complaint from guests but they keep it at this tempature at the spa makers request. Weird!

If you don't care about a spa experience though the hotel was really nice and we enjoyed the room and the breakfast which had a lot of variety. We were able to have a room facing the ocean and we enjoyed the balcony every morning. What is nice about staying at this hotel is that the staff is friendly, the hotel furnishings are nice and you can enjoy the ocean while only being a short distance from a beautiful, charming old town. We took full advantage of the free bikes, which were decent, and did a lot of exploring even riding along the shore line,. There is a great restaurant across the street. I cannot remember the name but if you go out the front door it is on the on the left side of the street corner.
