“It was simply lovely”

Excellent location, close to the beach, to the railway station and bus stop to San Marino. The city center is within walking distance. Hotel is located in a quiet street. Room and bathroom were clean, recently renovated. We chose a standard room so room was a bit small. Wifi access was included in price. Very good breakfast and a delicious cappuccino. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent value for money. I would definitely stay here again!

“Best thing about it was location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 June 2011

To do this hotel justice, I will be honest and say the best thing was the location.

If you're looking for a good nights sleep but want a 10 min walk from the pubs/restaurants and beach, then this is your place. It was a nice enough hotel but the breakfast was really not up to much. I had read, on Trip Advisor, that the breakfast was lovely, well - the people who wrote that must have been a little deluded as it really was not up to much at all. The juice was out of a machine and the tea (LIPTON) tasted like dish washer.

The staff, on the up side, were lovely. They couldn't do enough for you, really friendly and the hotel is spotlessly clean. It's quiet and the location is absolutely spot on! so yes, I would go back, I just wouldn't go Bed and Breakfast!

And no swimming pool - disappointing. The beach have a special bit for guests at this hotel but they still stick a charge of 15 euros on your beds when you want to sun bathe. Ripoff.com!

“Fantastic attic rooms”

Stayed at Villa Lalla for three nights. Offerd a superior room which was not up to standard however moved to an attic room which I loved. The rooms have a private balcony which was ideal for soaking up the sun in the evening.
Very nice breakfast however the staff do not seem to understand that the british have cold milk with there pots of tea. With a little training, I am sure they will be fine .
Thanks to Lucca for the stay, it was an enjoyable break and we hope to return.

Room Tip: Attic room. cala or dalia

“Perfect”

I chose this hotel for my first holiday as a solo female traveller after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor. I have to say I couldn't have been more pleased with my choice. The hotel was in a great location, on a quiet residential street and just 5 minutes from the beach and a 20 minute stroll into the old town. The staff were very friendly and patiently listened to me practising my shaky Italian and seemed more than happy to speak slowly and using sentences I could understand when replying to me in Italian which I really appreciated as many just respond in English. I asked for recomendations for restaurants nearby in the evenings and wasn't disapointed with any! I even recieved a discount at one as they asked where I was staying and when I told them Villa Lalla they knocked 10% off my bill!! Breakfast was lovely and fresh and a great touch was being offered a real cappucino to go with everything else that was available at no extra charge! I was made to feel very comfortable and spent a good hour or so a day early evening or on my way back from dinner sitting on the lovely sofas in reception drinking wine as I didn't want to be out on my own too late at night - even though I always felt very safe walking around the area, even in the evening.

I paid 81 euro for 3 nights and was given a double room with TV and the best shower in the world. The bed was made and fresh towles put in the bathroom everyday. The rooms were clean, modern and very comfortable. There was always hot water and there was a hair dryer in the bathroom too.

Overall the hotel made my first holiday alone the best possible experience ever. I cam home feeling refreshed and relaxed and very proud of myself for taking such a big step to boosting my confidence and look forward to my next holiday alone, I just hope i can find a hotel as perfect as Villa Lalla. Many thanks to you.

“Friendly, value for money”

One of many similar small hotels a short distance from the beach in Rimini, the Villa Lalla is unremarkable but friendly and good value. A little disappointed by dispensing machine coffee at breakfast, and a little disappointed not to get a balcony when the hotel didn't feel remotely full - but on the plus side, the breakfast itself was an adequate spread, the staff were really friendly, and wi-fi was a very quick connection as well as reasonably priced.

During high season I think the hotel offers lunch and dinner; it didn't when I visited, in March. But there are plenty of decent, if not life-changing, restaurants nearby on the main road that runs parallel to the beach. And the Rose and Crown bar, a ten-minute stroll away, is one of the nicest I've visited in Italy - not because it bears a vague resemblance to an English pub, but thanks to the busy, happy vibe and friendly bar staff.
