“HARD TO FIND”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 December 2011

Picked this hotel based on TA reviews for overnighter on way to Tuscany. Hard to locate. Luckily, we had a Garmin GPS that got us there. Located in mixed industrial and residential neighboorhood. Appeared safe. No stores or restaurants we saw in the [walkable] immediate area. Several large markets within a 5 minute drive. About a 10 minute drive into the Historical center of town and 5 minute drive from the A1,

Typical Holiday Inn Express you'd find in US. However, beds are very stiff and bathrooms small. Both rooms and hotel were very clean. Provided free parking and three hours of free WI FI [front desk gives you a code]. If you do not bring your own, they have a computer in lobby.

Breakfast was included in rate and way just okay.

Overall, adequate for an overnight bed. But I'd be hard pressed to stay at this hotel for any other purpose.

“Good hotel in an out-of-town location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011

Good hotel at the edge of town. Two bus routes and an 8 Euro taxi fare into the centre. When we arrived bar/meal service not available due to staff shortage although it had been stated that there was a 24 hour service. Breakfast was not replenished as stocks ran out. Somewhat aggressive staff member in the breakfast area although reception staff excellent

“Business Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Parma October 2011 for a conference that was downtown. I had a good experience with the staff, free wi-fi (with a code you pick up at the front desk, good for 3 hours), free breakfast and coffee in the moring. They don't have a business center, but they do have a computer in the lobby to check email and print your boarding pass.
It is a holiday inn express, not the Ritz, so if you keep your expectations as they should be, the hotel is good. It can get noisy because it's hard wood floors in the rooms (at least in the one I stayed in) however the rooms are clean and the bathrooms are big for Europe. I do wish they had an English station for the news however, CNN or BBC.
If you are in town to sightsee you might want a hotel downtown. The taxi fair is about 10-12 euro round trip. Not much close to the hotel itself, but if you are driving through it is a good location not far from the highway.

Room Tip: Request a room on the top floor, so you don't get noise of guests above you.

“Excelent cost/benefit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2011

The hotel is a bit far from downtown but it is worth the price we paid for. It is clean, the staff is very helpful and the breakfast is good. Good internet for free. For a short stay/transit I would strongly recommend and would also stay again in the future.

Room Tip: All the rooms as new and well equiped
