This spotlessly clean, professionally-staffed hotel with its old school decor is a gem and makes you feel as though you have stepped back in time to visit Italy in the more glamourous days of travel. The rooms are spacious by European standards, and the bathrooms are fantastic (shower, tub and great water pressure!). The desk staff was incredibly helpful in securing dinner reservations, recommending places to visit (e.g. Aceteria Bompana), and helping with our many other inquiries. Sgr. Scalini was particularly helpful. It is a mere 10 minute walk into the center of town, and very close to the A1, so very easy to reach by car. The parking facilities are reasonable and secure. While the decor may have old-fashioned charm, the internet access was modern and fast, and no more expensive than anywhere else I stayed during my trip. The only area that I would like to see improved is the breakfast - while it was plentiful, the food was not the best, but it is a small matter at an otherwise wonderful a hotel.
