Went back to Modena after a long time and couldn't believe when I found a *very* cheap special offer online, and just for the duration of my stay.
The hotel is not central, but not so far away from downtown. If you don't feel like 10-15 minutes walk, you can catch a bus 300 mt from the hotel, or a taxi. I had a rented car and appreciated the free parking the hotel included in the offer, together with a very tasty and varied breakfast.
Thw rooms could do with some restyling, but the bed is very comfortable and the bathroom well furnished with all you need.
Helpful and efficient staff ... seems that hasn't changed during the years!

This is a big hotel a bit out of the way but quite worth the stay. The first reception staff we encountered was mainly one male who was a little unhelpful, but for the rest of our stay we had a lovely brunette woman who was very pleasant and helpful. It is a nice big hotel and our room was huge. The décor was quite nice, the bathroom décor was very nice. The bathroom itself was very nice and spacious – a great set up. Overall the hotel room was very clean. They do offer wifi to the room, you just have to sign up to their provider and pay online for how long you would like. It was good and fast internet service. The bar and restaurant staff are fantastic! Such great service. We had a lovely meal at the restaurant, were treated like stars there, fantastic service from the staff. All in all we enjoyed our stay here, a great place to unwind after busy days travelling and exploring.

Looking at the interior, I guess this once was an pretty nice hotel. Not anymore though. Everything looks as it was there 20 years ago. The rooms are small and not well cleaned. If you need an room to sleep and continue your journey, this might be ok, otherwise look further.

I stayed for 4 nights and the staff were very helpful and kind. Breakfast was good and great breakfast staff. I ate in the restaurant and attended a function there and the food was completely out of this world and very authentic. The rooms are clean and comfortable but lacking any character. The hotel is shabby on the outside and in the foyers, but the staff make up for it. And if I had to come to Modena I would stay here again because of that. Free fast wireless internet is the most important thing for me when I travel and this was a nightmare and I was not able to use my laptop. But the staff let me use the computer in reception which was helpful under the circumstances. But they could no solve my problem for me as they were not really computer/internet literate.
