The hotel "Tre Torri" is situated outside the little town of Medolla, about half an hour by car north of Modena, Italy, at the State road No. S 12, in a large, perfectly maintained garden-like estate with parking lots and a swimming pool. There are about 25 double rooms, breakfast room, bar and TV-lounge and a large porch in front of the building. The rooms are new, resonably spacious, and very clean. Especially the bathroom/shower is very comfortable, and the beds made us sleep like angels on their clouds!
The proprietors were tremendously friendly and caring for the smallest details. When we came back from some shopping they immediately offered to store the meat and vegetables in their fridge over night. They recommended us a very nice restaurant a few kilometers away - and offered to drive us back with their car "in case the wine would taste too good - just give us a call"! The Grappa which I ordered after coming home proved to contain at least 3 times the usual quantity without any extra charge.
The hotel restaurant is opened only for special events, so the usual arrangement is "bed and breakfast", the latter offering a big choice of bread, muffins, ham and eggs, sausages, fruit, and beverages, all of high quality and served in an impeccable manner.
For us, it was the last overnight stop on the return from a short trip through Tuscany, and we definitely will stop there again if we happen to travel this part of Italy once more. The hotel is a perfect place to recover from a long, tedious drive from Germany, and also a good location for short trips to the great cities of the Emilia Romagna, as Mantova, Bologna, Modena etc. Thank you again, "Tre Torri"!
