Stayed in Hotel Roma a few times over the last few years. The hotel has maintained the same standard throughout this time. Rooms are comfortable and clean. It does look slightly dated but not in a bad way.
Great on premises restaurant with great service. Nice little bar too. Reception staff are OK but do treat better customers that can speak even a little Italian.
Great location in the center of Bologna with easy access to busses.
Would stay there again.

The wireless is not free, the hotel in general is kind of old, not like charming old, just old. The rooms are clean and silent. Excellent location.

This hotel has an excellent location, in the heart of Bologna. From here, you can easily walk to many interesting sights in the city, and we especially enjoyed the hotel being on a pedestrian street with many nice shops.. Our room was fine, although perhaps a bit dated, and the bathroom was rather small, but adequate and very clean. We had no problem with the air conditioning, and did not find it noisy, as another reviewer has stated. Breakfast was good, and the service was attentive. As far as cost is concerned, this was the least expensive hotel at which we stayed during our three week tour of Italy. If we return to Bologna, we would stay again at Hotel Roma.

I am sorry to say this, but I feel we were fooled into this hotel. A booking service at the tourist office found the hotel for us, and the lady described it as at "nice" hotel. Our room, at least, was not nice. And extremely hot, although there were an air-condition in the room. We paid too much, and found a much better, and much cheaper hotel the next night.

The location in the historical center was very good, that's what I liked best.
