“Good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

This hotel has a very good location only a few yards from the piazza maggiore and 5 minutes from the airport shuttle stop. Our room was good, a very large bed left little room to move round but then city centre hotels often are tight on space. The bathroom was smallish as well but fine and everywhere was spotlessly clean. Reception staff were helpfull up to a point but were a little vague on somethings, we were told the taxi fare to the airport was 10 Euros when it's a 10 Euro minimum which isn't quite the same thing. The other thing that let it down was the breakfast which was ok but no more than that with very limited selection of pastries for example. Also the breakfast room was cold. The room was warm possibly too warm at times which made the breakfast room seem colder, don't go down in your shirtsleeves if you're there in the winter!

“Great Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

The front desk staff are professional, welcoming, service oriented, friendly and helpful. They are what made our experience such a positive one. The room was comfortable, the bathroom spacious, the ambience quiet. The location of the hotel is within easy walking distance to all center city venues.

Room Tip: We chose a superior room and felt it was good value.

“Spacious apartment, modern and comfortable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

We stayed in one of this hotel's apartments when traveling with our family this Christmas; we couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay. Although the apartment had only one bedroom, the bedroom was large by American standards. In addition, there was a large living room that included a table that would seat 8, a sofa bed, and chairs and cabinets. The kitchen was also spacious and had a table that could seat six. The furniture was all modern with clean lines and in good condition. The floors were wooden and the bath tiled. The bathroom was spacious and included the largest shower I have ever seen in Italy.

The apartment has enough storage space that we felt we could live there, not just visit. Besides a 12 drawer dresser and two closets for hanging clothes, there were two closets/cabinets with shelves in the bedroom. The bathroom also had ample storage, and the entryway had a coat closet. Just three of us (couple plus adult son) stayed there at night, but our grown daughter spent her days with us, plus we were able to host out of town company without feeling crowded. It was so much better than a hotel room(s)!

Housekeeping arrived daily, changing towels and bed linens, and kept the place spotless. The kitchen was reasonably appointed with dishes for six. basic condiments, and some pots and pans. We made breakfast daily and also managed (by borrowing baking powder and buying flour) to make pancakes for Christmas breakfast and roast a nice piece of beef for a traditional Yule dinner. No dishwasher, but a washing machine and ample radiators to dry clothes!

The apartment is less than two blocks from Piazza Maggiore, the main square of Bologna. We were there in winter and found the heater to be quite efficient (even during a Christmas eve snow) and the hot water plentiful, almost too hot. We had feared that the apartment would be noisy since it was so central, but the double paned windows helped with both sound and temperature control. I fear it might be hot in the summer -- it seems to have only a window air conditioner?

The apartment is a few steps from the hotel, off a galleria. The door to the galleria is locked at night, and the door to the apartment building is locked 24 hours a day. There is a small elevator inside the building so you can avoid the stairs.

When we had problems (such as blowing a breaker), maintenance arrived in minutes. Housekeeping was not fluent in English, but the desk staff were.

“Very good hotel in Bologna”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

Excellent location, as others have pointed out. We have been in Italy before during winter and rooms can be rather chilly, but this was a positive exception. We had a "Superior" room on 4th floor (401) with large and comfortable twin beds. There was no noise from outside nor from inside the hotel. Staff was kind and helpful.

Room Tip: 401 was a quiet and spacious room.

“Great Location, friendly service, comfortable room”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2011

I have to agree with the other recent reviews: excellent location just a couple of minutes walk from the wonderful Piazza Maggiore the heart of the old city. Very friendly staff on reception and at breakfast, very willing to help and even share a laugh.
Decent breakfast buffet too: small selection of the key hot and cold components.
I stayed in a stylish modern room, not a huge space but with a comfortable bed and pretty powerful shower (witin a bath).
Room had one of the largest 'safes' I'd seen in a hotel.
As you would expect in a hotel with such a great location, there was a fair bit of overnight noise: laughing, vans reversing, bottles being collected etc.
Otherwise couldn't fault the place for a good value stay in the heart of the city.
