“Good hotel in a good location - will stay again”

This is a standard four star hotel - it is clean and in a great location. The service was great and the breakfast is fine. We stayed for one night on a small trip around Italy and it was totally fine for our purposes. The room was very nice, the bathroom was large. The lady on the front desk and the security guard was delightful.
If you are looking for a good spot to base yourself from then this is the hotel for you - it's right close to the lovely little back streets with all the fun bars and restaurants and is really close to the train station.
We loved it and will stay there again if we are in Bologna again.

“Good experience”

We stayed here early December. It was good value at 90 Euro per night and the hotel really is excellently located. Near the train sation, walking distance from the main square and on a very nice classical Italian shopping street which was buzzing with pre Christmas shoppers. The rooms are good, reasonable size and as we were at the back overlooking a flat roof it was quiet. Would go again.

“Excellent location and good value”

We have previously always stayed at the Guercino, as close to family who live near railway station. However we wanted to be more central this time and so choose Internazionale on strength of the reviews and also the price, which is comparable.
Best thing we did, we have to say. Superb big room, lots of storage space, bed is top hotel quality and very comfy, and large bathoom with bath as well as shower. We had room overlooking via de mille, and happily opened full length window during night (there is a liitle 'balcony' outside, don't worry) as it was a welcome change listening to the street life in the city, but if you're not happy with constant traffic and people noise, then best ask for a room overlooking courtyard. If you do keep the window closed though, you won't hear any of the noise outside.
Tons of choice of food for breakfast, quick unobtrusive service, and reception staff may seem aloof, but that is the Italian way, and when you need any help whatsoever they are happy to do this.
We've said this is the one we will definitely return to next time we visit. Just to point out two things in the bathroom though - the hairdryer is one of those 'elephant trunk' style ones over the bathroom sink (very good for demisting though!), and take your own soap, as we forgot, and the bar supplied is pretty useless! No tea making facilities in room, but they are happy to make you a large pot of tea or coffee any time of day in the bar or for room service.

Room Tip: Ask for room overlooking courtyard if you want peace & quiet.

“A surprise in Bologna”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

My wife and I booked Hotel Internazionale using points we had on one of our credit cards and I wasn't sure if that meant a good hotel or not, but my wife wanted to visit Bologna as part of our honeymoon.
When we arrived in Bologna, our directions to the parking garage in the early evening made for some fun with a lot of one way streets, but when we got upstairs to the hotel we were pleasantly surprised.
The hotel lobby is typical of European hotels, and while one would expect the room to be as well, when we got upstairs we found a room that rivals most American hotels. Large room, with marble bathroom, comfortable bed, plenty of space for our bags and a view out on the city of Bologna.
The woman at the front desk (sorry I don't remember her name) was very helpful. The first night she recommended a restaurant that my wife still talks about - Ristorante Donatello and she made reservations for that one as well as one which came recommended, Ristorante al Montegrappa da Nello.
The second day we were there, I needed some medical attention and needed an English speaking doctor. Between the lovely woman at the front desk, and her connections to a doctor, I found what I needed and an appointment was made at a local clinic.
Overall whether you are staying for business, or for pleasure in Bologna, book this hotel.
You will not be disappointed!
