“close to centre”

The hotel is very central to the town, with friendly staff, easy car parking in the streets nearby at 4Euros a day and a great gelateria close by.

It is however, very small, with lots of mirrors everywhere to make the place look bigger. Steep stairs to the reception on the first floor, and even more to our third floor room. There is no lift and anyone with a handicap should be aware of this. There was no porter available to help us with our suitcases. Fire evacuation could prove very difficult.

“Terrible!”

I was horrified with this hotel. Although in a central area, I would never stay here. The entrance to the hotel reminded me of a run-down pensione showcasing both broken mirrors and pottery. Macabre Christmas lighting intertwined with ancient, dusty fake ivy gave me the chills. The breakfast room looked like the entrance to a Sicilian funeral parlor. The room had beds with very old mattresses and the decor was gloomy and surreal. The window shutters were kept tightly closed to hide the depressing "view" on the run-down building across, but most probably to keep you away from the vitreous stare of the dead pigeon lying on the other side of the glass. I ran away after receiving a morbid glimpse of what my room could have been for three nights, and I happily upgraded my stay at the beautiful Hotel Novecento. The money was well spent.

“Loved the location & ice cream!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 June 2005

My husband and I satyed in the small, but perfectly formed hotel over our second anniversary in Sep '04. The rooms were small, but clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel's central location is a HUGE bonus as well as the ice cream parlour at the end of the road whcih sell the BEST ice cream in EVERY FLAVOUR imaginable. Bologna is a stunning city with a very cosmopolitain feel with beautiful piazzas and amazing restarunts tucked away off the tourist track. We loved the way each bar put on a small 'buffet' at around 5pm to entice people in (it worked and you end up staying all night..no need for dinner). Bologna's central location and brilliant train routes allowed us to visit our beloved Florence (again!) and Venice for the first time.. Overall great hotel, brilliant anniversary location!

“Very Good location--Poor Accommodations”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2005

We spent four nights here in mid-October, 2004.

The stairs up to the lobby is a killer climb. Our room
was dark, and poorly furnished.

We would not stay here again.

“Tucked Away but Close to Everything”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 September 2004

Visited the Due Torri in September 2003 and once I got over the quiet setting (down a narrow road on a Sunday afternoon), walked just two blocks and found the evening passagieto going on, I knew I was fine. I had a double room single use for 117EUR and, though small, it was fine. Great bathroom, comfortable bed. Breakfast was very nice, though after being on the Grand Canal for breakfast the previous few days, this inside room felt a little stiffling. Plenty of restaurants nearby and all the attractions you might want to see in a a couple of days.
