“An Excellent Find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

This is a very reasonably priced, or even, let’s be honest, cheap hotel, with a great location (walking distance from the train station, on one hand; close to the Piazza Nettuno, on the other) and all basic comforts. Just one thing – when we went there for the first time we were given a room on the top floor. If you can, avoid it. These rooms have only window ceilings (a rather weird feeling), are smaller and uglier. Standard rooms, however, are really OK (especially for the price). Breakfast is not a highlight, not even because of the food, but because the eating area is small and feels cramped. In light of all the pros (I must highlight the price and location again) this is however a minor quibble.

“Great friendly small Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 December 2011

I stayed in the 'Apartment' they have. Has two bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom and a central hall. Ideally located for a visit to Bologna (I was there for the Ballet at the Teatro Comunale, but there's plenty more to see).
It's very clean, well furnished, and modern. Not much in the way of noise, and I slept like a dream.
Staff are very welcoming and speak brilliant English (very useful as all I could say was Ciao!). Breakfast is typically Italian / European - in that they do not do any cooked requests (like full englihs, orscrambled eggs etc). But the range they do have it wide enough and plentiful and very tasty (especially the coffee!).

Room Tip: Can't comment on the normal rooms, but if you're two couples, or a couple and a single, ask...

“Fantastic Hotel in a Fantastic Location in a Fantastic City”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2011

Paradise Hotel, located in the traffic free area of town, is a flat Walk from the train station taking about 15 minutes.

This hotel is in a wonderful location, where we were able to walk to all of Bologna's attractions, as well as some great restaurants in the area.

We received a Pleasant welcome at check in.  Gave great advice on eateries in the area and provided a map making it easy to find our way around this interesting city.  All staff we encountered  during our stay were very friendly and helpful, and spoke very good English.

We had booked a studio apartment for 5 nights, but received an upgrade. The  Apartment was located in separate building across the road from the hotel.   An Elevator services the building. Our apartment was on the first floor.

The apartment had been recently renovated. It was very spacious and well designed and perfect for our stay. There was a large, comfortable bed, 2 bedside tables, plenty of wardrobe space, 2 lounge chairs and a dining table. The kitchenette was well equipped, including oven and refrigerator. Windows, with shutters, were on both sides of the main room.  The ensuite was large, provided with exhaust ventilation, and toilettries were provided. Everything was spotlessly clean.  It was generally very quiet, and although we occasionally heard our neighbours, it did not bother us.

We arranged to have  laundry done, and it was a  Very efficient sameday service at a reasonable price.

Breakfast was served in a room on the ground floor of the hotel. It was very good with large selection, including boiled eggs,  Bread, croissants, cereals, yogurts and juices.  The fresh cake was an excellent touch and the coffee was made to order.  It was very good too.
Free wi-fi connection was available.

We would recommend this hotel and, should we be lucky enough to visit Bologna again, would choose to stay at this wonderful hotel.

“Good Location, Reasonably Priced”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 December 2011

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights. We chose to stay in a hotel apartment in the building across the street from the main hotel. It only cost a few Euros more and was well worth the price. We were give a choice of apartments and, even though we had to walk up two flight of stairs after taking the elevator, we chose the top floor unit. The apartment was very spacious with plenty of room to spread out. The furnishing were a bit funky but functional. Nothing fancy but we normally forgo hotel luxury with the thought of spending the savings on good meals. The top floor unit also has a side view of the Bologna towers as well as a view of the neighboring rooftops. The bathroom was as big as some European hotel rooms.

This hotel is on a side street and is quiet but it's close to the old town attractions. The people at the front desk were as nice as can be and were always ready to provide advice and recommendations. The breakfast selection was good and the service very good. This would be my hotel of choice on a future trip to Bologna.

Room Tip: We liked the top floor apartment.
