Extremely comfortable large modern room, large on suite with bath and shower. Coffee and tea making facilities, large flat screen TV and stereo supplied in the room. WiFi access available as pay as you go. Breakfast very nice, hot and cold food available. The hotel is ideally located, directly opposite the train station giving easy access to Bologna airport while within an easy 10 minute walking distance from the centre of town. Lovely Hotel, big comfortable rooms, nice staff, good breakfast and well located, recommended.

Starhotel Excelsior in Bologna is in a good location about 10 minutes walk from city centre and very close to train station and buses. It is spacious, very clean and very quite. In the area one feels very safe. Spacious room. Ours was on the 7th floor. Breakfast not to a four star hotel standard. Some of the reception personnel were helpful while others were'nt that much. Free 30 minutes of wifi in reception area. But once you disconnect even after 10 minutes there is no chance of connecting again with the same password. We spent 4 nights in this hotel.

Just across the Bologna Centrale, the main railway station. A modern Hotel with clean rooms, very nice staff, good food. Even it is in the main road and is very noisy outside, in the hotel room it was a relaxing silence. We stayed just one night, but we feel very good.

Nice clean & comfortable hotel with a good bar & breakfast. My husband & I used Bologna/the Starhotel Excelsior as our travel base for a few weeks of travel in the region so its proximity to the train station (the best way to get around the region) help me select it from the many hotels in Bologna. Unlike of hotels near a train station this one is quite, clean, & I felt safe walking in the area day or night. While in Bologna it turns out to be a perfect location because it is a short walk (5mins or less) to the heart of the city; the city offers amazing food, in-door/out-door food markets, beautiful churches everywhere, loads of shopping, too much good wine, & a funky street market with handcrafts/flea-market goods. The city is full of history & energy so my husband & I spent hours walking the many streets...music & art.
