I initially planned to stay in Rimini, but the hotel I wanted was booked out so I booked Re Enzo at short notice and headed for Bologna instead. The Re Enzo is situated close to the Via San Felice, which is the main shopping street leading up to the 2 Towers. We walked into the centre of the town each evening, stopping at small Chic bars to soak up the atmosphere. A Taxi from the Centre is only 5 Euros and there are numerous tax ranks. The Cocktail bar in the Hotel opened at 5.30pm and Gave us a free drink and 'eat all you want ' italian tapas. The bar is very pleasant.
The staff could speak enough english to get buy. The hotel has a restaurant, just round the corner it was unhurried and very cheap, however there are better restaurants in the centre of the town. The breakfast was cold continental. Not bad by Italian standards. The air conditioning didn't work, maybe its turned on later in the year. The staff were very well mannered and friendly, and the bar prices cheap. The hotel was clean. I felt this was a family run hotel and provided the authentic italian experience, which I wanted.
