“Fantastic - Location, Hotel and Comfort - Shall Be Back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2009

I was booked in to this hotel by a friend from Pescaro who was getting married - so a local, she assurd me this was a lovely hotel. . .I was not disapointed. Excellent location, fantastic view from the balcony. Very clean and tidy, lovely bathroom with an amazing shower . . .Friendly and helpful staff.

On a visit to the beach which is just across the road, we also identified that Pescaro seemed to be popular with families who travelled there for the day - kind of how Brits go to Bournemouth/Cornwall. Such a safe location too, plenty of families with kids out till the late hours (way past 11pm) children running around on the green area near the Ball structure which seemed to be a meeting point for people every evening. Parents cycle everywhere with their little ones and the locals are so polite and helpful. Definately a place to go for a lazy weeks break as its cost effective and you have all the hot Itallian weather and Ice Cream you could want! - will come back.

“Worth a look”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 July 2009

The location is very good and typically Italian Adriatic. It's right on the beach and adjacent to several nice beach side restaurants and bars. We booked the hotel after viewing the Trip Advisor review and it was what we expected. Reception spoke reasonable English so no problem there. Room was very big with sea view and nice bathroom. Towels changed daily and sheets every other day. Aircon in the room was switched on when requested at reception and worked pretty well though the thermostat on the wall was pretty useless. Breakfast was adequate at best but okay with fresh pastries cakes and croissants. If you’re after a super quality pool and sun bathing holiday then don't go here, it’s a swimmers pool not a splasher’s family pool and it has no children’s pool area. We didn’t choose it for a pool holiday and I suggest that if that's what you want then don't stay here.
If you want a nice base to stay with reasonable facilities then it’s recommended. We didn’t try the restaurant at lunch or in the evening but it looked okay. We preferred to use the local restaurants and bars which are just great value and very friendly.
There is a access to a private beach which you can pay for (typical Italy) and parking is available in an underground garage at €8 per day. You can park on the street with a card provided by reception in the car window for free; finding a space may be a bit of a lottery but we were lucky. If you love Italy you’ll love Pesaro and if you like seafood then this is heaven. The town itself is 10 minutes walk away and a major surprise if you’ve never been. It’s a beautiful place with nice bars, restaurants and fantastic shops. Great place to explore the surrounding areas and Urbino is brilliant.
The B&B rate I thought was a little on the high side (€118 per couple per night via Venere.com) but having checked everywhere else out in Pesaro, it seems like the going rate.
Not the best place in the world, but reasonable and clean with with nice staff.

“Friendly staff, but room air conditioning bearly functional!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 June 2009

Good points: Hotel Perticari, sits in one of the best locations next to the beach. The rooms are large and airy (during the day!) and all have a balcony overlooking the sea. It has a half size olympic pool and, either free street parking (permit) or you can pay for their garage. Then you can use the free bikes to get around. Staff are very friendly and relaxed. We had half-board, food was fine if a bit odd at times with a good selection of reasonably priced wines.

Bad points: The air conditioning in your room just doesn't work properly. It whirrs but with little action. basically you are in a hermatically sealed room and you sweat! If you leave your window open and blinds up, its noisy (thats just Italy!) and the dawn will wake you at 5.30. The management say a technician has fixed it but i don't think they can as its all centrally controlled from a computer at 27 degrees c! So we had to hassle every night for a fan, which they had to steal from the barman!

When we paid our bill, they did give us a good discount but then having to go down to reception at 3am every morning kinda spoils your sleep. I think the hotel is in denial about the problem. We checked out 2 other rooms and spoke to another couple and they verified it was the same for them (but they didn't complain!)

Its a shame because its a nice hotel, full of Italian tourists (not Brits which is great). So we can't recommend the hotel as the management appeared unable to sort out the problem.

“Excellent Hotel on the promenade”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2008

My Husband and I stayed at the Hotel Perticari in Pesaro for two nights on a half-board basis. We had previously stayed there 21 years ago when it was an aparthotel but it has undergone many improvements in recent years.

Our spacious en-suite room had a large balcony with a seaview plus a mini-fridge and TV. The bathroom was of the highest standard and the accommodation was spotlessly clean. The breakfast was a buffet with a good selection and the 4-course evening meal was far beyond our expectations with an excellent choice.

I would highly recommend this Hotel.

  • Liked — The good service, lovely food and the Hotel's position directly on the promenade next to the beach
  • Disliked — I liked everything - I couldn't fault it

“Rossini Rossini!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2006

Every few years with some friends (everyone of us in our fifties, be warned) we visit Pesaro for the Rossini-festival which is held here in august. The operacomposer Rossini was born here of course. His grave in Paris at Père Lachaise is empty, because he was reburied in Florence, something which still saddens Pesaro, where one would have loved to rebury him a second time. The house where he was born is now a small, but charming museum. The old fashioned operatheatre is called Theatro Rossini. Pesaro is an Italian style beach resort, where every august then operafreaks mingle with the much larger Italian crowd of sunbathers. The town has a pleasant, but rather small old centre: piazza, main street, part of which is of course called Viale Rossini, and that’s it really. It also has an extensive and equally pleasant lungomare (called Viale Trieste), on or near which most of the hotels are situated.
The first time we went here we stayed in Urbino, at fourty kilometers from Pesaro, in Hotel Bonconte, which was excellent, but which also made it necessary to drive from Pesaro to Urbino, late every night. The second time we stayed in Pesaro, in Hotel Savoy, which together with Hotel Vittoria is probably the hotel most frequented by foreign guests. We didn’t like Savoy at all. With three persons they gave us a double with an extra bed. Small, dark room. Expensive. I seem to remember a small and empty swimming pool on the roof. With empty I mean without water. We never tried Vittoria, because knowing Italy well, I presumed it to be one of those oldfashioned fourstar hotels which are very expensive, without the quality you would expect. That seems to be confirmed by former guests on this site. The next time by mere chance we wound up at Hotel Perticari, and we liked it a lot. We organised our stay be e-mail, and were answered in what I thought was a very sympathetic way. Very friendly personnel, although not much used to foreign guests. Simple, but large and well appointed rooms, with large balconies, a large swimming pool, where daily life seems to be very Italian. The hotel is on Via Zara, which is practically on the beach, but also a five minutes walk to the old centre. It is my guess (but a well informed one) that if you visit Pesaro for the opera, it is much better to stay at this sort of hotel, that caters almost exclusively for Italians, who won’t allow for bad service. The only problem might be that guests are supposed to take mezza-pensione (meaning one meal a day) and stay for a week. But even than a stay here is cheaper than at Vittoria, or Savoy, and a lot more agreable. Next august we will be going again, and we will certainly try Perticari first.
