“Dark Basement”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2008

We were on our month long honeymoon throughout europe and this was our last stop. All other accomodations in the other cities were great, but unfortunately I picked wrong on this one. I thought it would be great to have our own place with kitchen in an excellent location for the price advertised. Wrong. One positive is that it is in an excellent location minus the animal feces infested alleyway. The morning after we arrived I was already on the internet looking for another place to stay, but everything was booked. If you go when it hasn't been raining then its better. The room had a very dank musty smell. Im assuming from the rain the previous week and it was humid. Its extremely dark so it made us not want to even be in the apartment, which is fine but to come home and relax between outings wasnt even enjoyable. We never cooked in the kitchen because the place was so dark and depressing. The place didnt feel clean because it was so old. Definitely not recommended for a romantic place, but if you have kids then maybe? We found a notebook in the place where other travellers had expressed their opinions and they were ALL negative. Why they didnt post on this site I dont know because if I would have seen their posts I would never have booked this apartment.

“Good aparment, fabulous location”

We went looking for an apartment to make travelling with our 6 month old easier as we would have cooking facilities and more space for a travel cot and baby paraphernalia and found Leuto on [--].
Overall the apartment was good. It had adequate space and facilities - we used the gas hobs to cook dinner and the fridge to store baby food. There was all the utensils/dishes etc that you need to get by without all the additional flash extras.
The bathroom was also good. Lovely shower and overall the apartment was clean and tidy.
Downsides were that it was advertised as having a radio/CD, TV and DVD. There was no DVD and the TV and Radio/CD didn't work so that was a shame. It's also very dark as it's the ground floor in an alleyway, but as you spend most of the time out of the apartment I didn't feel this was a negative. In fact it was great as it was darker to get our little boy to sleep.
It was 400 euro for 4 nights, which I felt was quite good for the location and in comparison to other accommodation around piazza navona. We would stay there again.

  • Liked — Location was in the heart of the historical area. 15 mintues to Vatican City, 10 to Spanish steps
  • Disliked — No DVD as advertised, TV/CD/Radio didn't work

“Recommend staying in an apartment when in Rome”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 December 2007

Went to Rome this past November and after pricing hotels in the downtown area, I started researching apartments. Remembered I had tagged a website: [--] and went that route. I knew I wanted a very central location, preferably close to Piazza Navona. Found a small studio for 98 Euros a nite for 2 people (extra 10 for 3rd person) with an adjoining 2 person studio available if you travelled with a party of 5. It was called Studio Leuto and the adjoining one is Studio Orzo (pictures on website: [--]. It would have been difficult to locate on our own because it is tucked away just off of Via del Orzo in one of the million small alleys in Rome, but it was very quiet and almost forgot we were in the center of the city because, except for the occasional scooter, there was no traffic noise. We were there for 5 nights.
I must admit, that upon first entering and seeing it, we ( I went with my mother) found it dark and not as bright as it appeared in the photo on the "rome-accom" website. The furnishings were older, but clean. Once, we got settled in and explored the area, we couldn't believe how everything we wanted to see and do was right there! Of course, Piazza Navona (3 minutes away), the major sights, Metro stop at the Spanish Steps (10min) in case you wanted to go the main train station Termini to take a day trip somewhere, Vatican City ( 15min). We didn't take a taxi once. Small cozy restaurants and cafes at every turn, grocery stores, etc. We were so happy that we were staying in an apartment, an will do it again for sure.
I highly recomment the Rome-accom website. Personnel were friendly and answered e-mail inquiries very promptly. Have a good trip to Rome!
