“Excellent Base for Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2011

Great location, clean rooms and friendly staff, perfect for a break in the great city of Roma. Literally a stone's throw from the Pantheon, which itself is very impressive, and central to the Colluseum and Vatican, Trastevere and Trevi fountain.
Clean, comfortable and good value room, just right for exploring the city. Good shower, air con and easy to find (not a hotel in itself but apartments managed by Abbruzzi hotel). Simone made the check in seamless, we were early but allowed to leave baggage (which were taken to room) and start our break. One thing to note, you will have nearby noise from the restuarants nearby until midnight and they start early the next morning emptying bins etc. About 7am. Not a problem as such but if your expecting peace and quiet then don't stay anywhere in the centre of Roma!
Breakfast was a buffet at a friendly restuarant on the opposite side of the piazza, nice!
Overall, a great place to stay and explore. Recommended and will return.

Room Tip: Room 4, nice. Air con, view onto the busy street below adds to the atmosphere. Very near to the Pant...

“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

This was a nice hotel in a great location at a reasonable price. Our room was small but adequate and the bathroom was very large, especially for Italy. The staff was very friendly and helpful, suggesting some wonderful restaurants usually frequented mostly by locals. The hotel was located within steps of the Pantheon, a block or so from the Piazza Navona and a short distance from St Peter's.

Room Tip: Some of the rooms face another building so if you want to face the street you should specify when ma...

“Clean and perfect location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2011

Situated at the Pantheon, the location for experiencing the city was perfect. The check-in was OK (took some time as they have to register all their visitors I guess), but not more than OK, don't think there was a smile close to the night-guards mouth ever... The breakfast was served right on the piazza in front of the pantheon, and that was a great pluss! The food was OK as well, eggs and bacon, and lots of cakes!

The room was small, as expected, the room was cleaned every day, and it seemed like it was well done. Also, the bathroom was very nice. The bed was a rock, and it was uncomfortable to sleep in it.

Overall I would recommend this hotel for the location and the price.

“Room with an ancient view.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2011

This room was so well located. The Pantheon is literally a few steps away. It is run by The Abruzzi Hotel but is in a separate building. This means you have a key to the street door as well as your room key and can come and go without passing the reception each time. The street door leads you to the main pedestrian path that goes from the Trevi fountain to the Pantheon. Another bonus is the coffee in the bar downstairs at Tazza D'Oro. The granita caffe was reccommended to us by a taxi driver and it is not to be missed. The restaurants just a few meters away were all really busy and we discovered that the busiest ones had great food. We found our room to be quiet despite being located in a busy area and the airconditioning was a welcome feature.

Room Tip: Ask for the double room with "the view"

“Fab location, Condescending staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2011

Like all the other reviews, I agree this hotel is located perfectly. Unfortunatly our encounters with staff members was far from perfect. We had a problem checking in, and in the commotion I forgot my pin number of my credit card. The receptionist actually called me stupid! My husband got so cross we almost didn't stay here. Luckily he calmed down and we managed to avoid the staff for the rest of the stay.
Breakfast was ok, but water for tea always cold. The staff had a bit of a "can't be bothered" attitude (no tea bags, dirty cutlery). This was quickly forgiven by it's breathtaking view of the Pantheon.
The rooms could be rather noisy. It is directly on the main throughfair from the Pantheon to Trevi fountain, and a restraunt directly below the window.
But if its location location location (and you don't mind rude staff) this is the perfect hotel, and great value.
