Ivanhoe Hostel Rome was infested with bed bugs.

Woke up with blood spots all over our sheets.

In the following days we found several engorged adult bed bugs within our belongings.

Be warned of a very real bed bug infestation.

Staff however is friendly enough, free spaghetti dinner followed by invite to party in the city, free wifi and computers in commons.

Don't stay here!

I sat on my bed and was immediately bitten. They were crawling up the walls and all over the sheets!

The guy who worked there then looked shocked when we showed him and said it was from people at the hostel sleeping in parks and beaches, what the?

We left straight away! AVOID

I'm literally just back from Ivanhoe and I would reccommend it to all my student friends. Not one person while I was there for the past 4 nights complained about bed bugs and they sanitise all luggage that come through to make sure they stay bug free. A 24 hour reception was really handy and also no curfew gave us some independence.
There is free wifi and an excellent breakfast for €2 each morning. The staff are so friendly and while the rooms are simple, you haven't exactly paid a luxury price. It is a party hostel but the common room (the main hall) is closed at 1am. Each night, the hostel was quiet by 2am. You cannot beat the location and the people you meet are so fantastic. There are free cocktail and free pasta nights organised as well to get people talking and you become one big family and then one big group to go out to clubs with which is so great for single travellers. Also, the reason they close from 11am-4pm is to clean the whole hostel and it was always immpecable. i don't know why people complain about this...

They have bedbugs. This is the most disgusting hostel I've ever been! It's filthy, they do have bedbugs, as I show on the pics, you gotta be lucky to have warm water on the shower. Besides that, the hostel is locked from 11a.m. to 16p.m. and you just get kicked out from your bed, if you are sleeping at the "lock" time. Definetly not a party hostel. I would never recommend this hostel and never stay in it again.
