I enjoyed staying at the Alex Inn very much. But I have never had a hotel experience like this one, but not necessarily in a bad way. When I arrived the girl working checked me in and gave me 4 keys on a key ring. She said " you will use the keys in the order they are on the chain." And then told me sometimes there is no one at the desk so you are on your own to come and go as you please. And that is what I did, in the four days I was there I only saw someone one other time. It is more like a flat. The room was nice and the patio is wonderful, to have coffee in the morning or to sit out in the evening. It is in a really nice part of the city and I travel alone and never felt uncomfortable. There is no sign on the outside of the building, so it is hard to find. You will have to be buzzed in. There are lots of restaurants in the neighborhood and shops to spend your money.

Initially I booked for La Piccola Maison but received an email from Giorgio saying that the room at La Piccola Maison is under renovation and he suggested me to stay at Alex Inn which is under the same management at the same price (EUR 60/night) with additional breakfast included.

It was a bit difficult to find this place, approx. 10 minutes from Bernini metro station (La Piccola Maison is much closer). However, Alexandra (the owner) is very nice and friendly, and I was also very pleased with the room. It was clean, spacious, modern and I got a balcony which is super nice as I don't have to walk out from the building to smoke. A bit downside was that the room was not sound proof and I can hear other guests watching their TV from my room.

The breakfast was served in the room and I agree with other reviewer saying that the serving time is a bit late (08.30 the earliest). However, it was quiet generous in my opinion as I had selection of coffee, tea, milk, orange juice, cappuccino, croissant, toasted bread, jams, cheese, butter, etc (you can select all if you wish).

On the last night of my stay, I got a bottle of wine in the room. I'm not a wine expert so I can't tell whether it was good or bad, but for me it was a very nice touch from Alex :-)

I really like the approach to the style and design of this B&B. The outdoor terrace was amazing, and really private, perfect for my wife and I to enjoy Roma! The room was very clean and modern, and really comfortable. We stayed here with my brothers and parents who had their own rooms, and those rooms each had a different feel that gives a unique experience. I highly recommend this place, as we had a wonderful time there. The location is great too, close to everything! We were going to have breakfast, but we had to leave really early in the morning! It is complimentary! Thank you so much, we will definitely stay here if we find ourselves in Roma again!

What a gem! We arrived exhausted from our trip and the room was serene, there was even a beautiful outdoor terrace. The bathroom was clean and modern, the bed was very comfortable. I wish we were staying longer, so close to everything we wanted to do, the staff was very helpful and arranged our transport to the airport with great advice. We even went to a restaurant that she recommended and had one of the best meals ever! Thank you so much.
