We searched all over for accommodation in Rome because it’s one of the most expensive cities in the world to visit. We didn’t want a run-down hostel near the main Termini Station and we didn’t want to spend hundreds of dollars in an over-priced hotel. This B&B (the concept of B&B is still quite new to Rome) is located near Piazza Del Popolo and was only opened in October 2007 and is new and clean. It has 4 rooms that are all really well decorated. There’s wireless internet, en-suite bathrooms, flat screen TV and air-conditioning. The host is the most welcoming person you could meet and will give you sight-seeing information, travel info and anything else you could need.
The B&B is great for traveling to and from also. It’s about 30 seconds walk from a tram stop (Ankara stop on Tram line 2). From Termini Station you take Metro Line A to Flamini (about 10 mins). At Flamini you get on Tram Line 2 and go three stops to Ankara (5-10 mins).
From the airports, the Vignola can send a car to collect you or you can get a bus. The bus is around 6 Euros but don’t go with TerraVision buses as they are really badly organised. They are OK to go from the airports to Termini Station but really bad to go from Termini back to the airport. There are plenty of other bus service providers that charge the same price and will give you better value.
Stay at the Vignola and you won’t regret it!
