I found out about this B&B through someone who had stayed here and can highly recommend it. Since it is close to the Forum (about 5 minutes walk from Pyramid Metro Station which is two stops from Coliseum) and was extremely reasonably priced, my expectations weren't high - this being Rome - but I was very pleasantly surprised.
The B&B has two bedrooms, each with a large double bed, located in a roomy and light apartment with good views of the city. The two rooms share a bathroom which has a tub and shower. Every room has a balcony, including the dining room, and breakfast is prepared by Gianlorenzo - the owner of the apartment. He stays in another section of the apartment but it's completely separate from the guest rooms.
He prepares whatever you like for breakfast, and made sure to go out in the early morning to purchase the yogurt we had requested. We were also allowed to use the fridge.
Gianlorenzo and his mother were extremely nice and helpful and we would never have found our car rental return office if she hadn't got on the phone and made several calls for us. The apartment was tricky to find as it was our first time driving in Rome and we didn't have a good map. We used the Metro after that. There is also a train by the Pyramid Metro station that goes directly to Fiumicino Airport - which saves you 40 Euro cab fare. There's a cheap Internet café by the Metro station - 1 Euro for 60")
The cost of the room was 60 Euros a night for a double and 45 Euro for a single.
Gianlorenzo recommended a great neighborhood restaurant which was packed with Italian families. It's called the Bucatino and had a wonderful all you can eat antipasto buffet for Euro 5.50.
